আমাদের যাদের শান্তি নির্ভর করে-
অন্যের অপমানে, লজ্জায়, তাচ্ছিল্যে।
কারোর ব্যর্থতায়, হতাশায়।

যাদের শান্তির জন্যে প্রয়োজন পড়ে
আরো আয়োজন-
বোবা প্রাণীদের লাঠিপেটায়, ভিন্নমতের
প্রতিশোধে, মানুষের ক্ষত- বিক্ষত দেহে।

মোদ্দাকথা আমাদের যাদের সুখ, শান্তি নির্ভর
করে অন্যের শারীরিক আঘাতে, মানসিক আঘাতে-
তাদের জন্যেই মনে হয় এই মুহূর্তের দুনিয়া।

ক্রোধ, হিংসা, প্রতিশোধ আর নৃশংসতা
এসবই আমাদের আত্মার নিত্যসঙ্গী-

তাই অপমানে, হীনমন্যতায় ভুগা কিংবা
ব্যর্থতার হতাশায় জড়োসড়ো হয়ে থাকা মানুষে
আমাদের মায়া হয় না।

খাবারের আশায় দাঁড়িয়ে থাকা
কুকুড়টাকে সহ্য হয় না।

মৃত্যুর আগে, "আমাকে বাঁচান" বলা
মানুষের প্রতি কোনো দরদ কাজ করে না !

কিন্তু!!! কিন্তু যারা কারোর দুই'চার কথা বিপরীতে
দুই কথা শুনিয়ে গোটা দিন অপরাধবোধে ভুগে,
অনুশোচনায় ভুগে !!??

এই ইস্পাত শক্ত দুনিয়ায় সংবেদনশীল মানুষ হওয়াটা যে যন্ত্রণার- এই যন্ত্রণায় কোনো আক্ষেপ নেই, অভিযোগ নেই বরং খোদার প্রতি কৃতজ্ঞতা।

We all have those isolated moment,
অনেকটা অনুপমের "আমাকে আমার মতন থাকতে দাও"
গানের মতন! যখন জাগতিক প্রত্যাশার চিন্তাকে পাশ করে
খানিকটা জিড়িয়ে নিতে হয়-
যেভাবে হঠাৎ শান্ত হয়ে থাকে আকাশী গাছ,
লেকের পানি আর কংক্রিটের পথ।

He stood there, a little unsure, holding his son’s
phone with the utmost care. "...Baba, press here. Yes, like this!" And he listened with the kind of innocence you only see when love is at the center of everything. He clicked over and over, making sure he did it right.

A father who once taught his son how to hold a spoon, how to take his first step, how to say his first word, now being gently guided by that same son on how to take a photo. The roles may have reversed, but the love behind it hasn’t changed at all.

And that’s the beauty of life, LOVE always finds its way back in the smallest of moments. Fathers may grow older, roles may change, but their love remains our safest place, FOREVER.
