আজ অর্থাৎ ৩১শে ডিসেম্বর বাংলাদেশ সহ সারা বিশ্বে প্রচুর নিরিহ পশুপাখি মারা যায়।
গতবছর ২০২৩ সালের তথ্য মতে
সারা বিশ্বে থার্টিফার্স্ট নাইট পালন করতে গিয়ে প্রতি বছর হাজার হাজার কীট-পতঙ্গ ও পাখি প্রাণ হারায়। সংখ্যাটা বাংলাদেশেও কম নয়। বাংলাদেশ বার্ড ক্লাবের পর্যবেক্ষণ অনুযায়ী, বর্ষবরণের রাতে শুধু ঢাকা শহরে চার প্রজাতির শতাধিকের বেশি পাখি মারা যায়। সে হিসেবে জেলা শহরগুলোতেও নানা প্রজাতির পাখি মারা যায় ফলে আমাদের দেশের অনেক বিরল প্রজাতির পশুপাখি মারা যায় এবং আমাদের দেশের পরিবেশ থেকে অনেক পশুপাখি হারিয়ে যাচ্ছে।

তাই সবাইকে বিনিত ভাবে অনুরোধ করছি আতশবাজি সহ সকল এ রকম জিনিস না ফোটিয়ে পশুপাখিদের জীবন রক্ষা করুন।
