5 things I wish I knew when I first stepped into the gym and went from 112kg to 93kg

1️⃣ Show up, even if you don’t feel like it.

Most days you won’t feel 100%, but consistency beats motivation every time. I’ve learned that just showing up makes all the difference.

2️⃣ Lift weights, don’t just run.

When I first started, I thought cardio would do it all. Truth is, weights actually change how your body looks, cardio supports the process.

3️⃣ Protein is your best friend.

Chicken, eggs, fish, whey. This one shift alone sped up my fat loss and muscle gain. I used to under eat protein without even realizing. Don't forget to have enough fibres too.

4️⃣ Track the basics.

Not every calorie forever, but at least enough to know what’s going in vs. coming out. I started weighing myself almost daily, and it kept me honest without driving me crazy. I did count my calories for 3 months straight to understand what I am eating. It's not sustainable for me but that 3 month really helped a lot.

5️⃣ Play the long game.

I started for a transformation, but what really stuck was building a routine I can actually enjoy for life. No crazy crash diets, no shortcuts, just steady progress.

This post is for anyone who is willing to start taking their health seriously. Small steps over time makes a lot of difference.
