Jiyat Kunda (The well of life)
The well popularly known as Jiyat Kunda has an inside diameter of 3.86m. (outside 4.78) on the top but diminishes on account of offsets as it goes deeper. A huge granite rectangular stone block lies across the eastern side with a projection inside, seemingly intended for the facility of drawing water. A series of other stone blocks, firmly embedded into the masonry to the water level and provides steps.
It indicates that the well is of comparatively modern origin and in all likelihood contemporary with the so-called Parshuram's palace. Later part of 18th or 19th century A.D. Tradition ascribes that king Prasuram resuscitated his dead soldiers with the water of his well during his struggle with shah Sultan Balkhi Mahesawar and his followers. The Muslim saint, learning about the life-giving power of the water of the well, polluted it by throwing a piece of meat with the help of a kite, which eventually led to the defeat and destruction of the Hindu king. But archaeological evidence does not support this legend.

পরশুরাম প্রাসাদ ✅
পুরাণের পরশুরামের কথা তো সবাই জানেন। কয়েকদিন আগেই তাঁর জন্মতিথিও পালন করা হল বেশ ঘটা করেই। কিন্তু পরশুরাম যে বাংলায় রাজত্বও করেছেন, সে হদিশ অনেকেই রাখেন না। বাংলাদেশের মহাস্থানগড়ে সন্ধান পাওয়া গিয়েছে তাঁর প্রাসাদেরও। অবশ্য এসব পৌরাণিক যুগের কথা নয়। দ্বাদশ শতকে মহাস্থানগড়ে রাজত্ব করেছেন পরশুরাম। আর তাঁর প্রাসাদের হদিশ মিলেছে গত শতকেই। ১৯০৭, ১৯৬১ এবং ১৯৯৫ সালে তিনটি খননকার্যে প্রাসাদের তিনটি স্তর আবিষ্কার করেন প্রত্নতাত্বিকরা।
