I sincerely thank the World Food Programme and the United States of America for their vital food aid to Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh. This support is a lifeline for our people in desperate need.
I also urges the global community to step up and share the responsibility. Together, we can ensure the Rohingya are not forgotten.
এই সপ্তাহে বাংলাদেশে রোহিঙ্গা শরণার্থীদের জীবন ধারণের জন্য গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ১৭,০০০ মেট্রিক টন খাদ্য সহায়তা চট্টগ্রামে এসে পৌঁছেছে। এই খাদ্য আমেরিকান কৃষকরা উৎপাদন করেছে যা যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের প্রতিশ্রুত সহায়তার অংশ হিসেবে বিশ্ব খাদ্য কর্মসূচির মাধ্যমে চরম সঙ্কটে থাকা দশ লাখেরও বেশি রোহিঙ্গাদের কাছে পৌঁছানো হবে। যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের সহায়তা একইভাবে অব্যাহত রয়েছে। আমরা ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত রোহিঙ্গাদের কাছে পর্যাপ্ত সহায়তা পৌঁছানো নিশ্চিত করার জন্য অন্যান্য দাতা গোষ্ঠী ও আন্তর্জাতিক অংশীদারদের এগিয়ে আসতে ও আরো বেশি অনুদান দিতে আহ্বান জানাই যাতে করে এই দায়িত্ব সবাই মিলে ভাগাভাগি করে বহন করা সম্ভব হয়।
This week, 17,000 metric tons of vital food aid for Rohingya refugees arrived in Chattogram, Bangladesh. This food, produced by American farmers, will be delivered through the World Food Programme as part of the United States’ assistance to more than one million Rohingya in critical need. The U.S. contribution has remained at consistent levels. In order to ensure sufficient aid is reaching the impacted community, we encourage other donors and international partners to step up and provide additional resources to distribute the burden-sharing.
