Dhallywood superstar Shakib Khan and acclaimed director Raihan Rafi have collaborated on a film titled 'Toofan'. This project is a joint effort between Dhaka-based production house Alpha-I Studios, the OTT platform Chorki, and the renowned Indian production company SVF.

During a press conference held at a Dhaka hotel, Raihan Rafi expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, "I'm thrilled as three major companies - Alpha-I, Chorki, and SVF - have joined forces to produce two films. Additionally, this marks my first collaboration with Bangladeshi superstar Shakib Khan. When such significant production houses and a superstar unite, expectations naturally soar. We're just getting started and seek everyone's blessings. However, I can confidently say that 'Toofan' will be a pivotal moment in Bangla cinema."

Jaya Ahsan's debut in an Iranian film, "Fereshta," garnered significant praise after its showcase at the 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa. The collaboration between Iran and Bangladesh in this production earned a spot in the 'Feature Films' category, competing against a range of international movies. Co-written by Mumit Al-Rashid from Bangladesh and directed by Morteza Atashzamzam, the film underwent translation of dialogues into Persian and Bengali by Al-Rashid and Foisal Ifran. "Fereshta" holds the honor of being the opening film at the 22nd Dhaka International Film Festival 2024 in January, supported by Maximum Enterprise Bangladesh as the co-producer.

Jaya Ahsan, a five-time National Award and three-time Filmfare Award-winning actress, is currently in Goa for the festival where five of her films are being showcased at IFFI, marking a significant milestone in her career. Expressing her thoughts about "Fereshta," she told The Daily Star, "It is a film that delves into humane values and emotions. The portrayal of the Bangladeshi community, culture, and politics by the director will, I believe, surprise the nation."

Alibaba has announced the release of Tongyi Qianwen, an artificial intelligence model that shares similarities with GPT.
On Tuesday, Alibaba Group Holding Ltd introduced Tongyi Qianwen, an AI-based large language model that bears resemblance to GPT. The company intends to incorporate this model into all of its business applications in the near future. The initial integration will take place in DingTalk, Alibaba's messaging app for workplaces, where the model can be utilized for tasks such as drafting business proposals, summarizing meeting notes, and writing emails. Additionally, it will be incorporated into Tmall Genie, the company's voice assistant.
In a statement, CEO Daniel Zhang stated that we are presently experiencing a significant technological shift, fueled by generative AI and cloud computing. As a result, businesses across all industries have begun to adopt intelligence transformation to maintain their competitive edge. Following this announcement, shares in Alibaba increased by 3% during morning trading.

Alibaba Cloud has plans to make Tongyi Qianwen available to its clients, allowing them to build their own personalized large language models. NASA has recently unveiled the names of the four crew members who will be embarking on the highly anticipated Artemis II mission, which aims to send astronauts to the Moon's surface for the first time since the Apollo program. Four NASA astronauts have been selected to fly around the moon in the first crewed moon voyage in over 50 years. নির্বাচন কমিশন সচিব আজ ঘোষণা করেছেন যে আসন্ন রাষ্ট্রপতি নির্বাচনে ইলেকট্রনিক ভোটিং মেশিন ব্যবহার করা হবে না।
