Burning at Bangladesh STS anchorage

Immediately after seeing MT. BLPG Sophia in rescue team have called all stations, made engines ready, heaved our anchor and proceeded towards the possible location where all MT. BLPG Sophia crew members might jump. Due to tidal effect the crews drifted SEly nearly 2 miles.

Rescue team from MT. first communicated with floating C/O of MT.BLPG Sophia. Rescue Team steared our way towards the location and guided tug , tug and towards the location, called all the port control, coast guard and Navy.Finally Tufan express could save all the crew jumped.

Coast guard fire fighting tug arrived and started spraying water at 03:54, other 2 tugs arrived in spot at around 4:30. After spraying water around 40 min it looks fire burning in same pace. Promotto stopped spraying water and staying at safe distance.

MT. BLPG Sophia was loaded with 3300 MT . Looks like all gas will be burnt out first and then the structure will get effect. Now fire is burning tank no 2 and 3 tank top, port side manifold and mast riser.

At the moment, all crew are safe and sound. High standard is required to investigate the whole situation.

Its highly unusual to see 3 are on fire within 12 days.
