Oftentimes, birthdays are used for self reflection, that almost always lead to feeling extremely anxious, overwhelmed and inadequate, mine is in a few hours, therefore; I’m here retrospecting, but not from a place of anxiety, rather from a place of immense gratitude and growth.
Since my last birthday that I themed “Golden”, my life has been truly golden, from one congratulations to the next (most of which didn’t make it to social media ), full of ease, joy, peace and happiness. That’s not to say that it’s been all roses, I’ve had my share of heartaches and troubles, but the good has outweighed the bad and I’ve learned to see God in every situation, His lessons were tough, kind and finally, He taught me to relax in the truth that He has a plan; He always does and those that trust in Him are never ashamed.

I’ve learned also that life’s a journey and along my way, I’ve loved and I’ve been loved, which is by far one of the greatest, most underrated blessings, yet I take it not for granted. Loving and being loved has taken me a certain level of strength and vulnerability that overtime have made me afraid of letting go and moving on, but in recent years, I’ve harnessed the power of being able to let go with ease(for which I’m more than grateful). I’ve grown to escape toxic tendencies and leave unscathed- not bitter, not angry, however, glad that I could experience certain things with certain people, vice versa.

Your takeaway from all this should be, life’s a journey of many different chapters, not every character from the prologue(start) makes it to the epilogue(end), as much as it will hurt(because you’re only human), never stay around till that underrated blessing turns into a curse. We don’t live long enough to be burdened, enjoy the ride while you still can, be carefree, be warm, be kind and most importantly, be an instrument of love and support.
To a girl that’s full of so much love, may your light never be dimmed. You’ve been a blessing to many and you’ll always be, happy pre birthday, Choco Trix.🤍
