Good morning everyone! 👋Hello and a warm welcome to the live coverage of the third day’s play of the second Test match featuring the hosts Pakistan and the visitors England from Multan Cricket Stadium 🏟 Multan.

England scored 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣ runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 49 overs in their second inning and lead by 281 runs. Harry Brook is batting at 74 runs off 108 balls and skipper Ben Stokes is at 16 runs off 25 balls. Earlier on the second day Pakistan were bundled out for 202 runs in 62.5 overs. Skipper Babar Azam was the top scorer for them in the first inning as he amassed 75 runs off 95 balls. Jack Leach was England's best bowler taking four wickets and conceding 98 runs in 27 overs. Mark Wood and Joe Root shared a couple of wickets each for England and Robinson and Jimmy Anderson shared one wicket each.

With a 79-run advantage going into the second session England swiftly lost two wickets and were eventually reduced to 25/2. Zak Crawley unfortunately got run out after scoring three runs off 14 balls. Will Jacks (4off 4) was promoted to number three but the experiment didn’t work as mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed cleaned him up in the seventh over of the inning. Ben Duckett continued his impressive form with another superb fifty. Joe Root joined him and they forged 54 runs for the third wicket. Abrar Ahmed once again extracted the wicket for Pakistan as he trapped Joe Root (21 off 35).

Ben Duckett and Harry Brook glued 68 runs for the fourth wicket as Ben Duckett departed after scoring 79 runs off 98 balls. Guess what 🤔It was Abrar Ahmed again who got this crucial breakthrough for Pakistan as he bowled Ben Duckett in the 36th over and he was soon followed by Ollie Pope who got run out and departed after scoring 4 runs off 11 balls. Harry Brook (74* off 108) and Ben Stokes (16* off 25) batted sensibly and remained unbeaten till the end. That is it for Day 2 of this Test match between Pakistan and England at Multan. England ends the day on 202 for the loss of 5 wickets. They are currently leading by 281 runs.

Pakistan opened the day at 107/2 with Saud Shakeel (32 off 46) and Babar Azam (61 off 76) batting. Ollie Robinson delivered a beauty of a delivery on his second delivery of the encounter sneaking through the gates of Pakistani skipper Babar Azam (75 off 95). The collapse began here and did not end there. Wickets dropped like autumn leaves one after the other reducing the hosts to 179/9 from 142/2! In the end Faheem Ashraf delivered a few blows to help the team surpass 200 runs.

Pakistan were swept out for 202 in 62.5 overs. England's most successful bowler was Jack Leach who took four wickets while Joe Root and Mark Wood each took two. James Anderson and Ollie Robinson each picked up a wicket to help out the rest of the bowling. England began the second session with a 79-run lead but quickly lost two wickets and were reduced to 25/2 at one point. While Zak Crawley (3 off 14) was unfortunate to be run out Will Jacks (4 off 4) was castled by Abrar Ahmed who was promoted to number 3.

Ben Duckett maintained his fine form with another superb fifty. Joe Root joined him and they added 54 runs for the third wicket. Abrar Ahmed once again broke this stand with the loss of Root (21 off 35) but this wicket was really taken by fielder Abdullah Shafique who snatched a blinder at backward short leg. Duckett had 58 off 75 deliveries and Harry Brook had 3 off 22 deliveries when Tea was taken.
