একটা দেশের সাংবাদিক এবং সংবাদপত্র এতোটা দেউলিয়া হতে পারে তা এদের না দেখলে জানতামই না। এতোটা অন্তঃসারশূন্য হয় কি করে?

''যুক্তরাষ্ট্র ‘ন্যাশনাল প্রেয়ার ব্রেকফাস্ট’ নামে কোনো অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করছে না। এই অনুষ্ঠানের সঙ্গে যুক্তরাষ্ট্র সরকার সম্পৃক্ত নয়। অনুষ্ঠানটি আয়োজন বা অর্থায়নের সঙ্গেও মার্কিন সরকারের সম্পর্ক নেই। এমনকি “ন্যাশনাল প্রেয়ার ব্রেকফাস্ট” এ অংশগ্রহণকারী ব্যক্তি বা কর্মকর্তাদের বিবৃতি, মন্তব্য বা মতামত মার্কিন সরকারের মতামত বা নীতির প্রতিনিধিত্বও করে না।

“ন্যাশনাল প্রেয়ার ব্রেকফাস্ট” একটি বেসরকারি, অরাজনৈতিক অনুষ্ঠান যেখানে প্রতিবছর যুক্তরাষ্ট্রসহ বিভিন্ন দেশ অংশ নেয়। মার্কিন সরকার সবসময় ধর্ম ও বিশ্বাসের স্বাধীনতাসহ বিশ্বজুড়ে মানবাধিকার এবং মৌলিক স্বাধীনতার সুরক্ষায় নাগরিক সমাজের অংশগ্রহণকে স্বাগত জানায়।

বিএনপি দলটারে নিয়ে বিনোদনের কোন শেষ নাই। বিজেপি নির্বাচনে জেতার পরে কোন এক ব‍্যাক্তি অমিত শাহ পরিচয় দিয়ে ফোন দিলো। বিএনপি সাংবাদিক ডেকে ঘটা করে ঘোষনা দিলো সেই ফোনের কথা। অমিত শাহ বললেন তিনি ফোন দেন নাই। এইবারে তারা প্রচার করলো ডোনাল্ড ট্রাম্প তারেক জিয়াকে ন‍্যাশনাল প্রেয়ার ব্রেকফাস্টে দাওয়াত দিয়েছেন। যেভাবে ঘটাও করে প্রচার করলো মনে হইছিলো ট্রাম্প নিজের হাতে সকালের নাস্তায় তারেক জিয়াকে পাউরুটিতে মাখন আর জেল মাখিয়ে খাইয়ে দিবেন। এখন মার্কিন দূতাবাস জানাচ্ছে এটা একটা প্রাইভেট অনুষ্ঠান। মার্কিন সরকারের এর সাথে কোন সংশ্লিষ্টতা নেই।
