Watch the live stream of the Anzac Day March and Commemoration Service.

Honour and recognise those who have served and who currently serve in defence of Australia and its interests.

The march commences on Swanston Street (near Federation Square) along St Kilda Road to the Shrine of Remembrance.

The march is normally complete by midday, and is followed by a commemoration service at the Shrine of Remembrance

Watch the live stream of the Dawn Service at the Shrine of Remembrance.

In solemn tradition, Victorians gather to commemorate those who served and died in defence of our country.

The service is held at dawn to coincide with the time of the Gallipoli landing in 1915—the first major military action by Australian and New Zealand forces (ANZACs) during the First World War.

The event includes recitations, hymns, wreath-laying and an address by the Governor of Victoria.

31/05/2023

This commemoration honours the service of First Peoples men and women, past and present.

First Peoples have served in conflicts and peacekeeping missions involving Australia for more than a century. This is despite the fact that First Peoples were not allowed to enlist until the Second World War and their service was not recognised for many years.

This all changed in 2006, when Indigenous elder the late Aunty Dot Peters AM and retired RAAF Flight Sergeant Sam Halim - then president of Healesville RSL Sub-Branch - held the first Remembrance Service to honour Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island soldiers.

The Service is now an annual Victorian event held during National Reconciliation Week.
