🌊 🔥 1️⃣5️⃣ As we feel for and hope for the best for communities experiencing floods in the Northern Queensland and bushfires in Victoria it is hard to believe that 15 years have passed since the tragedy and devastation of the “inland tsunami” in our region.
⛈️ We also recall the 1976 hail storm that devastated much of Toowoomba 50 years ago, also to the day!
🌊 We could never have imagined on the afternoon of the 10th January 2011, that a region 700 metres above sea level would ever see the unstoppable ferocity and sheer unpredictability of nature that we experienced.
History shows there have been other floods through the city, however and thankfully, nothing quite on this scale in recent times.
