There's a major double-barrelled Syncopators Event at the refurbished Geelong Arts Centre on Wednesday 31st July:
At 11.00am in the PlayHouse Theatre, a 40th Anniversary 'Best of the Syncopators' concert - 1 hr. This is part of GAC's Morning Melodies concert series. Bookings via the second blue button above.
At 7.00pm in the Story Theatre, 'A Tribute to Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald', with cabaret style seating and food & drink available. Star vocalist Yvette Johansson will join the band, recreating some famous duets with Peter Gaudion. There will be an intermission and the show finishes around 9pm. Bookings via the first blue button above.

On Sunday the 4th of August East Malvern RSL will present Happy Birthday Mr Armstrong with nine of Australia’s top jazz musicians paying tribute to the musical legacy of the great man with music from the songbooks of the King Oliver Creole jazz Band of 1923, the Hot Fives & Sevens of the late 1920s, Louis’ big bands of the 1930s & 1940s and the Armstrong All Stars.
On stage will be Brett Iggulden , Ian Smith & Eamon McNelis on trumpets, Jo Stevenson reeds, Rob Moffatt trombone, Peter McKay piano, John Scurry guitar & banjo , Jono Brown bass and Cal Duffy drums.
Music starts at 7.30 pm . Entry fee is $30.00 for general entry or $25.00 for members of any RSL sub-branch on production of a current RSL membership card. Bookings are essential at trybookings.com/CTEIV. Doors to the Jazz Room open at 6.00 pm.
Meals and bar snacks are now available from Banjo’s Bistro which is now open at East Malvern RSL. The meals and drinks menu can be viewed on their website banjosbistro.com. Bookings for dinner are recommended either at [email protected] or by phone at 0478 897 011 specifying that you will be seated in the Jazz Room so you can enjoy your meal at your table before the music begins.
