Welcome to Bowen and Albanese's wonderful world of net zero.

For just $92,990, plus on-road costs you can drive away in a brand new, made in China, LDV eT60.

Dream of weekends away camping, caravaning or boating? Forget it, this beauty has a towing limit of 1,000kg and is only available in 2wd.

With a driving range of 330km (halved when towing or carrying a load), you better go without free floor mats and ask the salesman to throw in a diesel generator and a jerry can. You can just read a book (or 2) while you wait between 1 and 9 hours for a recharge.

Not convinced? Here's the kicker, it's 'carbon neutral'. As long as you ignore its 3,050kg of steel, copper, lithium, nickel, manganese, cobalt, graphite, zinc and rare earths etc. Don't forget to turn a blind eye to the coal fired power used in the factory, the diesel trains, trucks and ships used for transport and the fossil fuels you will use to charge it at night in the comfort of your own garage.

Virtue signalling sure is an expensive business.

TIME TO KICK NEW XILAND OUT OF THE FIVE EYES

“The conservative National Party, which is leading the country’s new right-leaning coalition, is distinctly out of step with other conservative politicians in Five Eyes because of its pro-China approach. The party’s foreign affairs spokesman, Gerry Brownlee, argued during the election campaign that New Zealand should protect trade with China, rather than contest its human rights record or military expansion in the South China Sea. Party leader Christopher Luxon even said on the campaign trail that he would “absolutely” welcome Belt and Road investment by China in New Zealand.”

The Ardern era ends abruptly and with a surprising twist.New Zealand’s prominence on the global stage in recent years was defined by young, progressive Labour Party Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern—at …

Australia is facing an unprecedented challenge from espionage and foreign interference.

ASIO Director General Mike Burgess issued a chilling warning in his 2023 Threat Assessment.

Not only is Australia “facing an unprecedented challenge from espionage and foreign interference”, there are some academics, business people and public servants calling for ASIO to “ease up” on its counter-espionage operations.

“I’m not convinced we, as a nation, fully appreciate the damage it inflicts on Australia’s security, democracy, sovereignty, economy and social fabric,” Mr Burgess said.

He reminded us of these facts:

- Covert activities are not harmless or abstract.

- Espionage deprives our nation’s ability to make independent decisions.

- It steals significant investment in research and development.

- It undermines our military’s ability to defend us, and it chips away at our sovereignty.

Espionage and foreign interference are deliberate and calculated to weaken our democratic process.

We can’t afford to let our country be manipulated by foreign powers.

As Australians, we must stand up for our democracy, sovereignty and values.

It is hard to stomach that there are some among us—in universities, in boardrooms and in government departments—who care more about their own interests than the Australian people.

They believe foreign espionage can be ignored and safety managed, even—in some instances—tolerated.

This kind of weakness will slowly bring us to our knees.

I agree with Mr Burgess: anyone who holds such views should reflect on their commitment to our nation.

For us, the fight in the shadows isn’t going anywhere.

“From where I sit, it feels like hand to hand combat," Burgess said.

It takes courage and conviction to defend what we have. It takes strength and will. It takes leadership.

I’m grateful we have dedicated patriotic leaders and intelligence people who are prepared to stand on watch for us and disrupt threats to Australia.

We must back them by taking what they say seriously and doing our part to secure Australia.

Regards,
Andrew Hastie

Australians should be one, together. Not two, divided. By creating an Indigenous ‘Voice to Parliament’, our nation will be divided by race. Instead of bringing us together, this will drive us apart. And it will be there in our Constitution forever. It’s urgent: we need to call out that there.....
