This Subversion Prefix video is very special to me as I have been on the journey with @jakubkacenak since he arrived in Australia 10 and a half years ago.
The first day I met him was when I was training at an MMA gym in Sydenham. After class I dropped him and @sadeckyd at the train station where I had to remind Jakub he needed to wear a seat belt in Australia!
Myself, Jakub and our Slovakian mates, Daniel, Martin and Pavol outgrew the gym we were at and while transitioning, we travelled with the goal to medal in as many BJJ comps we could interstate.
Years ago, we chatted about making a documentary piece on Jakub and sent a portable hard drive back to Slovakia to get all the old footage of him wrestling. With Eastern Europe being what it is, of course the HD got stolen after Jakub’s dad posted it back to us. 😂
After a tip off, a raid ended up recovering the drive and we ended up getting all the footage! I didn’t use much old footage in this piece but maybe we will one day.
It will be an absolute honour to have Jakub competing on the Subversion stage and I just know that all Subversion fans will appreciate the match between him and @shimotsuchika.

I managed to capture every submission by @adelefornarino at the ADCC trials in Bangkok for @hyperflyaustralia. On the day she went 4-0 and looked unstoppable.
