Kym shares a fascinating story about a British Wallis tractor, #1425, now housed at “Hope Cottage” Museum, Kangaroo Island.

"Have just been reading the article in Issue #201 about the Boultham Works. I turned the page and there is a piece about the “British Wallis” tractor made by Ruston & Hornsby Ltd. We have one at “Hope Cottage” Museum, Kingscote, Kangaroo Island, tractor #1425. It is believed to have come to Kangaroo Island new, and after several different owners was donated to the museum in the early 1980s."

"Drapers’ windmill at Margate, East Kent, UK, is the only working smock mill in Margate. It was built in 1850 by local master millwright, John Holman of Canterbury, but no-one knows who owned this mill up until Mr Holman’s passing in 1855." Tim Keenan

"Peter Turner owned a machinery and car dealership in Meningie, SA, for many years and during that time he got to know where the old tractors were so he started collecting them. Peter says he was always one step ahead of the scrap metal dealers. The only downside was that Meningie is near the coast and, as most of them were stored in the open they rusted badly, but at least they survived." Peter W. Saint
