Huge news - the hard work of the Tasmanian production sector has paid off, with Tasmania having a record period of production according to Screen Australia's Drama Production Report for 2021-22.🎬 📺 📱 🖥️

An annual average of 💵 $21 million 💵 was spent on scripted projects in Tasmania across the 2021 and 2022 financial years. This is up from an annual average of $12 million from 2012-13 to 2021-22. This is real money spent on employing Tasmanian actors, crews and service providers, booking our hotel rooms and transport, and hiring Tasmanian equipment and locations. Best of all, it does not include the benefit of audiences seeing our fabulous locations, landscapes and lifestyle on screen, including cultural tourism, and the export and sale of the programs themselves.

This is the first time Tasmanian production has been large enough to be reported on a disaggregated basis. Congratulations everyone! 🎉 🥂

It's time to go around Launnie's infamous blockie route once more! 🚗🚦

Australia's Best Street Racer is back in "2 Street 2 Racer." ✌️

The six-part comedy sees the return of 18-year-old Taylor James who is determined to cement his legacy in Launceston’s late night street racing scene, in his mum’s 1994 Holden Barina. 🙌

Written and directed by Tasmanians Dylan Hesp and Michael O'Neill, this project is jointly funded through Screen Australia's Online Fund and Screen Tasmania's Production Investment funding.
