Brooke McClymont & Adam Eckersley won the night, and some laughs with Kev, at the Golden Guitars as they picked up three awards:
- Country Music Capital News Group or Duo of the Year
- Song of the Year for Star of the Show
- Apple Music Single of the Year for Memory Lane

Thanks to everyone who listened to Good Morning Country during the and the Golden Guitar Awards, to Kev and Heather for their tireless work as presenters, as well as Margaret Turkington and CBAA's Joshua Kreusler for their photography.

Thumbs up to Andrew Swift for winning Male Artist of the Year at the Golden Guitars! This is his third nod from the awards after winning two in 2019.

What a win! Kev caught up with Casey Barnes who won both the Toyota Album of the Year and Top Selling Country Album of the Year for Light It Up. This isn't the first accolade for the album, which also won the 2022 ARIA Award for Best Country Album.

Our highlights from the Toyota 51st Golden Guitar Awards continue with Kim Cheshire, whose album Looks Like Heaven won Alternative Country Album of the Year.

We were lucky enough to meet Lyn Bowtell before and after the Golden Guitars, where she received the Contemporary Country Album of the Year award for her album Wiser. This win means that Lyn now has ten Golden Guitars to her name!

Another double winner at the Golden Guitars was James Johnston who won New Talent of the Year and Best Vocal Collaboration for the track Same Songs alongside Kaylee Bell.

It was a good night at the Golden Guitars for Luke O'Shea who won two awards; Heritage Song of the Year and CMT Video of the Year for the track South East Queensland. Next up in our highlights from the Toyota 51st Golden Guitar Awards is DEAN PERRETT MUSIC, winner of Bush Ballad of the Year for Out On Killarney. This makes for Dean's sixth Golden Guitar, and his fifth in the Bush Ballad of the Year category!

It has been an exciting few weeks for the Good Morning Country crew, with Kev and Heather making their way to Tamworth for the Tamworth Country Music Festival, including the Golden Guitar Awards! We'll be sharing some highlights with the winners, and what better way to start than with 2022's Female Artist of the Year Ashleigh Dallas?

This time around Ashleigh won the award for Traditional Country Album of the Year for her album In the Moment, produced by her father Brett Dallas.

Our condolences to friends, family and colleagues of Mike Stewart from 2MCR The Sounds of Macarthur. Mike came to Good Morning Country as a presenter in 2015 and we greatly valued his contributions during his time with us.

Very Sad to hear of the passing of Mike Stewart in Sydney at 2MCR The Sounds of Macarthur thank you Mike for you support over the years of both my music and that of our Key2 Artist Promotions artists over the years at both at Macarthur Radio and as member of the team at Good Morning Country Many fond memories of visiting the studio with Thersese McKee xx RIP friend xx

Hello Good Morning Country fans! You may have noticed the Good Morning Country page has been quiet since Georgie Cadwallader's tragic passing in October last year.

Among Georgie's many great contributions to the show was posting to the page and in her much-felt absence we have been taking time to consider what comes next.

One thing we couldn't miss, of course, is the Tamworth Country Music Festival from 13 to 22 January 2022. We'll be sharing what we can from the festival, so if you're a musician coming on the show during the festival or just want to share your excitement please let us know!

Also, if you're a fan who takes some photos that you're particularly proud of, please feel free to tag Good Morning Country and we'll share what we can.

The Good Morning Country Team, along with the wider Community Radio Network and the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia, are very sad to tell you of the passing of our beloved Good Morning Country host, Georgie. Georgie was a staple of GMC for many years, with her professionalism and love for Country music obvious in every show she did. Georgie has been unwell for sometime and her passing has left all of us feeling her loss. I'm sure we speak for all of us by wishing love to her friends and family at this very tough time.
