Yesterday, I took the stage at for my first ever speaking gig.
I was excited/nervous/ready/worried I’d forget what I had to say. But I didn’t! Because I had my pink shoes of courage, nothing could harm me.
Speaking about money is a vulnerable thing to do and I was worried about being judged. But the CopyCon crowd are the nicest people ever. Thanks for laughing at my jokes, and encouraging me, everyone. (Assuming everyone laughed at my jokes, right?)
Thank you to Kate Toon for inviting me to speak from loadsa applications. And Emily Edgely who gave me expert guidance on presenting which helped my confidence tenfold. Suzanne Chadwick encouraged me too with her bold speakers collective.
Here’s hoping I can speak at more events, because I had the best fun.
I loved all the speakers too, everyone rocked.
And all the people I met For Real Life, thanks for putting up with my hugs, there’s too many to mention.
Plus, I lived out my childhood dream and dressed as Anne of Green Gables for the after party. My beautiful sister made my costume.
Today, I’m having a rest day in Sydney and flying back to Melbourne tomorrow.
