Recently, an ITC Lane Cove Chat Member asked if anyone else thought that mosquitoes were in plague proportions in Lane Cove and if Lane Cove Council had a mosquito eradication process in place. Several other members agreed they had been bitten more lately and warned not to go near areas like Stringybark Creek Reserve without applying mozzie repellent.
The name Liz Foster may sound familiar. Liz has written a monthly article in The Village Observer for the past seven years. Her column is called Life's Rich Pattern.
Liz's debut novel, The Good Women's Guide to Making Better Choices, was released in January 2024. The Book has been described as a warm, funny, and outrageously unfair novel about deception, financial fraud, goat's cheese, and starting over.

There are a few options on how to dispose of clothing rather than leaving them next to charity clothing bins - if it rains, these clothes will be ruined, and it costs the charities more to dispose of the items.
This photo was taken today outside the LCM church on Rosenthal Avenue earlier this year.

In 2023, The National Australia Day Council noted:
“For some, Australia Day is a day to celebrate all the opportunities provided by living in a free, multicultural society. For others, it’s a chance to reflect on their own citizenship and what it means to be Australian. And for many, January 26 represents a day of sadness, mourning and reminder of colonisation.”

ISSUE WITH LANE COVE COUNCIL RUN CAR PARKS - 19 Jan 2024
The ticketless parking ticket system appears to be malfunctioning today at both Lane Cove Market Square and Little Street Car Park (we have not seen any reports for The Canopy). A roving reporter noticed today that the cameras did not appear to be working when she exited the car park - see her post below on Lane Cove Chat by ITC. If you have parked in the car park today, go to www.lanecoveparking.com.au put in your rego, and see if you are still being recorded as www.lanecoveparking.com.auactive and in the car park. ITC will write to the council to seek reassurance that fines will not be issued for today (and possibly yesterday - we have been advised before of people being fine for entering the car park in the evening and then being incorrectly recorded as exiting in the morning )

PET BOARDERS needed - dogs and cats.
They told us:
Paws Galore “much adored” home pet boarding service is growing fast which means, as we approach our busiest period over the Christmas holidays, we need more pet boarders who can look after a dog or cat in their home on a casual basis, especially for the week of Christmas Day and New Years.
We make it simple. There's no cost to you as the dog or cat arrives fully equipped with everything for their stay. And we bring your furry friend to you and pick them up at the end of their stay. You will also receive some pocket money. So much fun 😀
Please call or text Hollie on 0434 834 088 or email [email protected] with your name and contact number so I can call to let you know more. We look forward to hearing from you 🐾
