See stories like Brothers Rugby Club's recent acknowledgement of former Councillor David McLachlan.

At Monty’s Annual Christmas lunch – an institution end-of-year celebration for Brothers Rugby Club which has been going for 38 years in succession at Tattersall's Club in the city – Club President, Geoff Rodgers, presented recently retired local Brisbane City Council Councillor, David McLachlan, with a framed Brothers jersey as appreciation for David’s strong relationship with, and support for, the club over years.

In addition to being an “always available and supportive” local councillor, David’s links with Brothers went further with him previously being a manager of his son’s junior teams at the club.

Central Ward Councillor Vicki Howard shared her thoughts on the proposal in our December paper, saying: "I do not want the streetscape dominated by towers and it has been made very clear to the applicant that what they put forward is not acceptable in its current form."

You can lodge your own submission by visiting the website https://developmenti.brisbane.qld.gov.au/ and searching application A006375195
