Shining Catalina Productions Pty Ltd
Alison is an independent producer and creative practitioner who has recently reentered the screen industry after working as a filmmaker and academic at Flinders University for over 20 years. Alison has recently launched her new company Shining Catalina Productions Productions Pty Ltd in partnership with award winning filmmaker Anne Tsoulis. Alison and Anne currently have 2 projects in development, a feature doco - Philoxenia https://www.documentaryaustralia.com.au/films/4497/philoxenia/ and a documentary series The Good Business.
Before moving to Adelaide Alison worked as an independent producer in Sydney and as an Associate Producer and Production Manager at ABC, SBS, Film Australia, and the Sydney Water Board. She was an assistant editor at the BBC in Pebble Mill, Birmingham, UK, back in the day when 16mm and steenbecks were the norm. Alison is interested in making films that make a difference to people’s lives as well as how we see the world.

Anne Tsoulis is an award winning director. Her latest feature documentary FROM UNDER THE RUBBLE (2018), won best documentary at the 22nd Arab Film (San Francisco) festival and has screened in competition at numerous festivals both in Australia and overseas. Previous to this wrote and directed the documentary THESE HEATHEN DREAMS that was an Australian/French coproduction for the French broadcasters Telenantes and screened at multi film festivals both in Australia and overseas. Before documentaries, Anne worked as a screenwriter with numerous credits writing for film, television and web series. Her film I’LL MAKE YOU HAPPY (writer) was nominated for best original screenplay at the NZ Nokia Awards. She was given the Premiers Literary Award High Commendation for her film script WILL AND HARRY. She also worked as a script editor for award winning feature films and short films. Anne has also worked with the film funding agencies as an Investment Manager, project assessor and consultant.
