Nick Thompson - (aka dicA) started learning to play Drum n Bass in the mid nineties in Oxford UK, the booming rave culture had him completely hooked after attending his first rave called Helter Skelter in the world's first purpose built and fully legal warehouse designed specifically for raves and after 4 years he returned to Australia and has been performing at, promoting and hosting events in Newcastle and surrounding area's since 1999. He has been seen as a backbone of the Australian Psychedelic Trance community and a mentor to many upcoming artists. His skill, performance energy and techniques has earned him many a fan both locally and worldwide. His act dicA has been on many events such as Subsonic, Psyfari, Regen, Sundae Fundaze, Craze, Bent Perception, New Cycle and many events all up and down the east coast of Australia.

His passion has been pushing him to extend his limits not only from the audio level but he is now exploring both the audio and visual levels of his performance by incorporating 3d projection mapping and has been performing his visual performances at many of the events mentioned before. He is competent in mixing on any decks and has performed using 5 or more decks seamlessly. After dedicating the last 23 years of his life to the Australian Psytrance and Drum n Bass scene by hosting events and helping teach many of the scenes psy and dnb DJ'S he is now focusing his DJ performances where he can watch everyone dance to his music with a birdseye view watching the continual evolution of doofs and psytrance in Australia.

Hi Friends, Family & Colleagues,

So, I have had to make a GoFundMe campaign, this is to assist with the initial private intervention for the Upper Gastric-intestinal issues I've been having; including the heavy internal bleeding during my 18 days in the Royal Brisbane & Women's Hospital. This was left quite untreated, even though I was told everything was sorted & I am now suffering physically & mentally from the whole process.

I have one of the best gastroenterologist in Queensland looking into my case & will be in his surgical rooms as of the 5th of May 2022.

I have a target of $4'500 AUD to cover all of the necessary costs for this first intervention to take place. The public system have really put me in a bad situation here, so I request whatever assistance & support I can receive 💛

Everything is explained in the campaign, there are hyperlinks for more information within the description which I've made to the best of my ability at the current time.

Sadly, I don't have active health insurance and I don't trust the surgeons I faced in the public system after my mistreatment by this surgical team.

Life-threatening amounts of rainfall fell over a number of days in areas across SEQLD & NNSW; flooding homes/businesses, property, taking lives & possessions of thousands; hundreds isolated until support & emergency services are able to reach their properties.

Tragically, events such as these can reach those close to home and those we love, Shafiqa Irwin & Alexander Heilpern (Founder & Owner at UP Records) have lost their home & their possessions after a landslide, caused by torrential rainfall sending down the hillside & boulders from cliffs above through their home!.

Shafiqa, left trapped with broken ankles & damaged legs under the landfall & boulders,
while Alex, knocked unconscious trapped under benches, kitchen counters & a sink.
It's unimaginable the circumstance they have faced, the pictures say it all.

Once Alex was conscious & had freed himself, he found Shafiqa & did his best to nurse her over the following 36hrs & carry her to safety. Paramedics arriving after battling up the washed out, destroyed roads; finally Shafiqa receiving acute pain medication & staying with the two overnight.

As soon as he could, Alex got Shafiqa up to the Gold Coast University Hospital in Southport. Shafiqa now in the acute trauma ward is recovering from multiple surgeries & most likely more to come.

Alex & Shafiqa are safe, though traumatized, injured and have lost their livelihoods through these unfortunate events.

National Digital Media Group, The Guardian Australia have credited their plight through these difficult times & Shafiqa's family have setup a GoFundMe to assist in their new start to rebuild their lives.
