We didn’t start the fire...
In 1989, founder David Cleverly happened upon an incident that would change his life forever.
Living with his parents on The Entrance Road, Erina, he was standing on the front verandah of their house waving relatives goodbye when sirens and the crackling of a very larger fire were heard.
Old video camera in hand, David and his father drove south towards the noise and came across a huge fire in a furniture holding warehouse, Eacotts Furniture Removals. The fire raged for ages and took some time to control. David filmed the fire and all the activity surrounding it and the next day gave the vision to NBN television of Newcastle, to play on their evening news.
The rest, they say, is history.
