From today we are 1 month away from celebrating another International Day of people with disability
Over 4 million Australians identity as having a disability. Less than 1% are seen in advertisements. The shift 20 initiative aims to break that and have 20% of advertising involving people with disability. Dis and Dat on 104.7 and streaming at www.2bobradio.org.au today from 12 midday till 2pm AEST

I just didn’t get a picture because my nephew was in my arms and I couldn’t grab my phone. People put these signs up all the time. And I see them a lot. And I hope you’ll start noticing them too.

The final disability royal commission hearing wrapped up this week. Many in the disability community hope all Australians now see how widespread their abuse and exploitation is.
New analysis found 43,000 people were not participating in the workforce due to neglect and 23,000 young people weren’t completing year 12 because of low expectations and bullying.

Happy international day of people with disability. Today we celebrate our accomplishments as people who have a disability. We celebrate how far we’ve come in a year, the things we’ve done and the things we’ve overcome. We celebrate an inclusive and accessible society.
CONCERT POSTPONED STAY TUNED
Due to unforeseen circumstances we have to postpone this concert.
Some of the key players have become unwell and are unable to play and support the big line up of talent. Given the nature of the concert we have decided to move it to make sure it’s the optimum outcome for all the performers and that nobody misses out.
