Merry Christmas! Thanks for another wonderful year and we look forward to working with you in 2024!
Meet Peter, our Content Producer. When he isn’t cracking jokes at the Comedy Festival, he’s sunning himself at the beach, or making content for our clients!
One of our business values is recognising that our people have lives outside of work and doing everything that we can to support them. So we thought we’d peel back the curtain and share some of our team's quirks with you through a thing we call the Hot Seat. Stay tuned to find out who our next contestant is!
“What are some of the reasons your clients start podcasts?” someone asked recently.
There are lots of reasons and like everything we do, the answer lies in understanding what you want to achieve before you start, and putting KPIs against it.
We’ve created podcasts for sharing expertise, to building communities, and everything in between!
We’re here to answer all your podcasting questions, so drop us a line. And with podcasting packages available for individuals, businesses of all sizes, plus our own studio, we’ve got you covered!
Meet our intern Charlotte! Passionate about project planning and video editing, she turns ideas into captivating stories.
She’s spent the last few months working on planning shoots and assisting on the day, as well as editing final products. Thanks for your contribution Charlotte!
Stay tuned to find out who the next contestant in our Hot Seat is…

“Where do I start?” we hear you ask. The natural starting point is to think about who your target audience is, what they want to hear from you, what you want them to hear, and what you want them to do as a result.
And don’t get scared off by having multiple target audiences. It’s natural that brands will have a multitude of segments they’re chasing, and you can’t always afford to chase them all at once – so prioritise, and start.
Thanks to Victorian Leaders for the opportunity to share some thoughts late last year. Drop us a line if you're curious.
Is there a segment of your organisation’s target audience that you’re struggling to reach?
Lots of medium-sized organisations have a digital comms plan in place, which often involves photos, videos, and articles, distributed across their social media channels and via email. But often, no matter how good the content and distribution are, there’s a still an audience segment that gets missed.
In that scenario, it’s a great opportunity to think creatively about how to plug the gap and try something different.
Audio (read: podcasting) is a great option. Read more: bit.ly/tce-podcasting
Are you hosting a conference or other major event? Have you got a comms and content plan that goes beyond ticket sales to tell the story of your event as it’s happening, immediately afterwards, and for months following?
Last year we were fortunate to work with the FECCA22 conference to do exactly that. Read our tips for maximising your content output, amplifying your message, and driving engagement on our blog: bit.ly/tce-conference
Fact: a “good enough” description of what you do on your website is no longer enough.
Your prospective clients are looking for what sets you apart from the rest. They want to see proof of life, of considered thought, of humanity. If you’re not publishing your thought leadership to your website, blog, and social media, you’re missing out on valuable connections that could lead to more customers.
So, are you regularly publishing content? Does it work for you? Why? Or why not?
Thanks to Victorian Leaders for the opportunity to share some thoughts late last year. Drop us a line if you're curious.
What counts as thought leadership content? What’s valuable enough to make your audience stop and pay attention?
Every professional has something unique to offer. While we might do the same job or provide the same service as someone else, we all do it in our own unique way, which is where our point of difference lies.
So the answer is, if I can Google it, then it’s not your own unique expertise or insight. As a customer, or prospect, I want to know what sets you apart from the rest, so communicating that is critical to ensuring your communications are successful.

2022 has been a big year for us at The Content Engine - we've doubled our team from two to four, we've moved into our new office in Collingwood, and we've had the opportunity to work with some amazing clients.
We'd like to take this opportunity to thank everybody who's been part of our 2022, including our friends and family, our wonderful clients, and of course our incredible team and crew.
Like many of you, we'll be taking a break to rest and re-group over the holiday period, shutting down as of COB tomorrow 23rd December and re-opening on Monday 16th January.
Thank you for your support this year. We wish you and your families a very merry Christmas, and we look forward to sharing a happy, healthy, prosperous 2023 with you!

Mentoring is invaluable, no matter your age. Drawing on the experiences of others brings different perspectives, encourages creative thinking, and expands opportunities.
That's why it was great to be involved in last week's 'Meet n Greek' networking collaboration between Hellenic Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Greek Youth Generator - GYG.
It was inspiring to meet so many young people who are already well and truly heading in the right direction, as well as adding any value we could!
Avoid putting the cart before the horse - plan your content strategy before you hit record!
Once you understand your objectives, audience, messaging and tactics, you can make some decisions about what hero content you’re going to create, and all the babies it’s going to give birth to.
