Recognised on September 29 each year, National Police Remembrance Day is one of the most important events on the policing calendar as members of the NSW Police Force and the community remember those police officers who have given their lives in the course of their duties. It is also a time to remember both sworn and unsworn members of the NSW Police Force who lost their lives through illness, accident, or other circumstances in the previous 12 months. This year Brisbane Water Police District has partnered with the Australian Reptile Park to adorn `Ploddy' Remembrance Day ribbon painted by park staff and local police.
