The NSW Faith Affairs Council met today. In light of recent events, the NSW Faith Affairs Council have released the following statement:


As people of faith, we recognise that our common humanity makes us one family, and we embrace each other as brothers and sisters.

We acknowledge the pain many in our community are feeling due to events in the Middle East.

We implore those who are grieving to find solace in the compassion and understanding of others, and to refrain from any words or acts which promote hate and resentment or incite violence.

Our state has shown great resilience throughout these times of conflict, but our social cohesion is something we cannot take for granted.

As community and faith leaders we are committed to working within our various congregations and communities to promote peace, harmony and understanding in NSW and to stand together as fellow Australians.

Submit your EOI for a four week internship at Nan Tien Temple (hybrid working) to design the landing page (in Canva) for the first Buddhist Film Festival at the largest Buddhist temple in the southern hemisphere. The festival is due to launch in mid-October and Nan Tien Temple want to give this opportunity to someone in the film industry. They have all the content ready for you to go.

Sandra Pires, founder and former CEO of Screen Illawarra, is the festival programmer/curator along with funding from Wollongong Council and good advice from the Travelling Film Festival. What is now needed is a person with proficient Canva skills to design the landing page that will take the program using the provided style guide.

You’ll dive deep into theatre production and design through exclusive mentorship and masterclasses provided by experts at Steven May Productions.

As a part of the TECH BOOT CAMP, you will receive:
💰 42 hours of training paid at $23.46 per hour (LPA award Production & Support Staff - trainee level).
💰 3 weeks of full-time employment during Backbone Festival (October 8th - October 26th) paid at $965.60 per week (LPA award Production & Support Staff -Level 2).

City of Wollongong 's Small Cultural Grants Program has just opened for projects happening between July 2024 and June 2025. The grants provide assistance to individuals and non-profit community groups working in the local cultural and creative industry.
The Small Cultural Grants aim to support and nurture cultural and creative opportunities that provide positive outcomes for our community.
This could include building new skills, developing new cultural and creative relationships, providing opportunities for people to engage in creative activities, showcasing artistic work, accessing professional development and nurturing emerging creatives.
Applications for this program are open until 5pm, Sunday 31 March 2024.
