More than 2000 people rallied for Palestine in Boorloo/Perth on January 14.

Friends of Palestine WA demanded an end to Israel’s invasion of Gaza in which more than 22,000 people, mainly women and children, have been killed. They demanded a ceasefire.

The rally called on the Australian government to support South Africa’s case against Israel in the International Court of Justice.

No Western government has backed South Africa’s case in the ICJ; meanwhile they continue to give Israel political and military support.

Israel’s current war — with its bombs leveling cites, destroying hospitals and homes, killing more than 20,000, with more than 6000 missing, presumed dead under the rubble, and with those numbers growing every day — is genocide.

When the overwhelming majority of world governments call for a cease fire, it indicates Israel and its key ally the United States are under intense pressure from below, argue Malik Miah and Barry Sheppard.

In a desperately unequal world facing a climate emergency, everyone has to pick a side.

Our side is — and always will be — that of the 99%.

Our goal is not only to expose the lies, hypocrisy and bias of the billionaire class and their media: we seek to help the organising efforts of all those actively resisting the increasingly authoritarian rule of the corporate rich, here and overseas.
