I’m beyond thrilled to announce that we’ve found our leading lady for THE MATRIARCH. Everyone please join me in congratulating Juliette Greenfield on securing the role of Missy 🎉🎉

Juliette is a relative newcomer to the industry, but gave us one of the best auditions I’ve ever seen (which is made all the more impressive given her age, and how talented the other applicants were).

This was not an easy decision to make. The whole film effectively rests on the shoulders of a thirteen year old girl, so we needed the next Macauley Culkin or Dakota Fanning.

The competition was extremely stiff, but there was something about Juliette that we just kept coming back to. We are so excited to help usher her into the genre, and hopefully give her a launchpad to an exciting career in film.

Today we held our final round of auditions for THE MATRIARCH. We went from over 60 applications to 4, which goes to show how special these girls were to stand out from the pack. Watching Logan Dove bounce lines off some of Queensland’s most talented up and comers has been the highlight so far and I can’t wait to reassess the tapes. I think it’s going to come right down to the wire!

GREAT NEWS. Today we cracked our first target of 5,000 views. This is the first time we've been able to do this under a month. I'm not posting this to say "look how good my view count is." I'm posting it to say "look how good my friends are" for helping me get it this far. It may not seem like much, but every like, comment, share, or sub gets our films seen by a wider audience. This opens up doors for us that were closed not so long ago. I'm excited for our cast and crew, and I'm excited for the opportunity this creates, but most of all I'm excited to have you all involved in the journey. Next year I'm taking some major leaps forward, and I can't wait to share the process with you all. Hope everyone has a safe and happy new years, keep trying to hit those goals, whatever they are

Hey guys! To anybody whose wondering, THE CLEAN UP CREW has been our most successful launch to date, with a whopping 3.5k since Wednesday afternoon! I owe all of this to you guys, who have been sharing like crazy. That means we’re only 1.5k to our target already 😱

If it follows in the footsteps of its predecessors, 5k is where YouTube started putting it in their recommended section, which is when we started seeing HUGE numbers.

I know it’s a big feat, but I’d love to try and hit 5k by 5.00P Wednesday afternoon, 1 week after the launch. Can we do it??

It’s been an uphill battle, but we made our target and then some due to my amazing friends, family and community!

2,770 views and counting in 48 hours! That’s a personal best for our channel, and gives us a running start. If we keep at it, it really could climb the heights of Trespassers and Kinks 😱

Hey guys! I just want to take a moment to thank you all for your overwhelming support on our 80s style slasher film THE CLEAN UP CREW.

Just so you’re all aware, our target was 5,000 views. This is where we’ve seen our other films really pick up traction once the milestone is met, as YouTube tends to place the video in the recommended section from that point on.

I wanted to get to 2,500 views within the first 48 hours, and I’m happy to report that we’re well ahead of schedule with nearly 1,800 and counting in the first 24 hours.

This is largely due to my friends, family and community, which has been PHENOMENAL to say the least. I’ve tried to thank everybody who has shared personally but please note that some people’s privacy settings don’t allow me to see their posts. So if you’ve shared but haven’t received a thank you, please know that you’ve helped more then you realise.

This was without a doubt the hardest film I’ve ever made. It was plagued with production issues from the start, but the team and I pulled through and created a fun 80s style splatter film that Friday the 13th fans should really dig. We hope you love it!!

Please remember, the first 48-72 hours is imperative in getting our film seen by a wider audience. So if you like our content and want to see us succeed, please smash the like button, the comment button AND the share button on BOTH FB AND YT (the platforms use different algorithms so a like and comment on both would be so helpful).

Hi guys! It's been a long time coming, but I'm going to drop THE CLEAN UP CREW on Wednesday 07/12 at 17:00 AEDT (that's 16:00 QLD for all my Brissy friends.)

Now, a couple of things to remember if you want to help us with a successful launch:

1. The platform we are posting on right now is a direct competitor with the platform that we post our films. SO anything we share gets buried, drastically limiting the view count. The best way to overcome this is if you guys interact with the post (I'm talking likes, shares AND comments.)

Every interaction counts towards what’s seen as a “successful” post, and gets more people to see our work. It would be EVEN BETTER if you could do this on BOTH platforms, as it will help the algorithm on the other end too.

2. The platform we're sharing it on takes the first 48-72 hours very seriously. So the sooner you watch, the better. It also knows how much of the film people are watching, so clicking on it and turning it off after the logo might hurt us more then help us.

Of course, we're not going to be mad if you would prefer to wait until the weekend when you're all comfortable so you can watch the full thing though. We're just grateful for the support!

After a really challenging shoot with THE CLEAN UP CREW, I've been introducing a lot more storyboarding into my workflow lately. Kind of developed the bug with the TRESPASSERS feature, where I paid someone to develop my sh*tty scribbles into something that looked like it belonged in a graphic novel. I worked with him again on THE MATRIARCH trailer, and will definitely be doing the feature when we get to it. Fun to see where the shots start and where they end up once the DOP gives me their input. Hey! I just want to thank everyone for their overwhelming support for our new film THE MATRIARCH over the past few days. I’ve been consistently asking everyone to watch the spec trailer (which they have), but the next logical step if you want to support us is to SHARE with your friends.

It sounds silly, but YouTube only seem to start plugging your videos after it already has a bit of interest. I watched my short films Trespassers and Kinks BLOW THE EFF UP after they hit around 5,000 views (currently sitting on a massive 724k and 828k and counting).

The Matriarch could be the most important film in my career yet as we already have a real shot at funding, a real shot of distribution and a real shot of getting the film over the line.

Please, please, please share the trailer with your friends and family as we roll into the spooky season, and ask your friends to do the same. It's been a BIG month! On the home front, my partner in crime Jade Peters has been recovering from a big operation. In between daddy duties (and literal doodies) I somehow got it in my head that I should film a proof of concept trailer for an AACTA competition, which needed to revolve around the theme "Mother." My mother Cindy Creighton once banged my head against a bed post when I was younger because I wasn't listening or something, so I've channelled all of my PTSD into a concept that I'm super proud of. I'm BLOWN AWAY by the trailer my team and I have made; so much so that I'm seriously considering it as my first feature. Yeah, I say that a lot, but 'Trespassers' we didn't have the money for, and a TV show just dropped on Netflix with the same plot as 'The Runaway,' so this really might be it. Especially if it does well in the competition. But if not, I have a plan B that's 15% more effective than the morning after pill. Will drop the trailer as soon as we find out if we're moving ahead or not in the competition, but in the meantime please drool with me over this concept poster. NOTE: I haven't really spoken to anybody in the credits about whether or not they want in. Fact is, they're all super talented and I pay peanuts. But most of them have been working with me for a while so maybe I can twist their arms. I don't know. Sneak peak 👀 Just locked down my edit for an exciting new project, and have sent it to my phenomenal composer to breathe some life into it. Huge shout out to Phoebe Green, Finn Newsway and Alex BD for helping me create such striking imagery. These aren’t even necessarily my favourite shots but I don’t want to give too much away 😅 can’t wait to fill you all in on what we’ve been up to!

To anyone whose been following my film stuff. Unfortunately I’ve decided to put the Trespassers feature on ice for the time being. I had a few financiers interested which didn’t pan out, and I fell so in love with the script that I didn’t want to make compromises for the sake of budget. If I’m gonna do it, I’m gonna turn it up to 11, and make it the best Aussie horror since Wolf Creek. So I don’t know where that leaves me. I still want to do a full length movie, because I never saw Vegeta quit when the going got tough. But it means I’ve gotta go back to the drawing board, write within my means and shoot it for pretty much nothing like I do with my shorts. Which brings me to this poster. I’m just about to wrap up the first draft of my second feature length script THE RUNAWAY, about a young woman who escapes from a deadly cult. Maybe that’ll be the one if I can get enough sets of hands behind the scenes 🙌 I dunno. Stay tuned 😉

717,384 views. While this isn’t a normal “milestone number” like I usually post, it could be the most important, because it’s just dethroned Trespassers as our top viewed film 🤯

I remember it stirring up controversy at its premiere screening. I remember it scrambling for its first 5,000 views. I remember reading nasty criticism from people who didn’t get it. I remember it being pulled from YouTube twice and being slapped with an age restriction. And despite all that, here it is at the top of the ladder. It just goes to show, make something you believe in, even if it’s a bit left field. You might be surprised about how many others believe in it too.

Last night we did an advanced screening of THE CLEAN UP CREW at the wonderful New Farm Cinemas. Seating was tight so I couldn't invite everybody I wanted there, but for the people that could come, I'm so grateful. The venue was amazing, the turn out was fantastic, and the response was pretty positive! And it was pretty cool that Arri's first cinema experience was for his daddy's films 😅 photos to come!
