In the finale of Renovate or Rebuild we wrap up the season with the winning team helping out Habitat for Humanity Australia to make life easier for a family who lost everything in last years bushfires, we check out a home that scored a 10 out of 10 for its energy rating and incorporates some easy to use automation systems, look at some simple design ideas for your renovation or rebuild, and of course Jesse is dealt his punishment on behalf of Team Renovate VIC (get ready to laugh!).

This week we are back in VIC for the season decider to see which team will be the victors and which team will cop a punishment based on their worst fears.

Team VIC are just half a point behind Team NSW. With one win each will Jesse and Mel (Team Renovate) or Bec and George (Team Rebuild) finish on top and can they pull in some big scores to push Team VIC into the top spot.

Michael tackles a hard design tip head on - literally!

Some building materials have a very useful characteristic beyond just making a floor or a wall: the ability to store warmth and “coolth” – cool comfort in hot weather and re-release heat or coolness later when the temperature changes inside the house. These materials are usually dense, like brick and concrete, and that is no coincidence, as density in building materials is always linked to thermal mass. When placed correctly they can help keep you comfortable throughout the year. For example if a concrete floor receives sunlight during the day in winter, it will heat up and release that heat at night to keep you warm and comfortable.
