“You can’t be what you can’t see”

Absolutely honoured to have been named Deputy Mayor of Lake Macquarie for the next 12-months. I look forward to working with Adam Shultz - Mayor of Lake Macquarie and fellow Councillors in progressing our city forward.

A 12-year-old Jack joined Council’s Youth Council wanting to make a difference – 15-years later, I am as determined as ever to build the confidence of more young people to put up their hands and get involved.

With the majority of votes now counted, and preferences to be distributed next week, I am delighted to say that on current numbers I have been re-elected to Lake Macquarie City Council.

I extend my congratulations to the remainder of the north ward elect, including Labor’s Brian Adamthwaite and Keara Conroy, along with Lake Mac Independents’ Colin Grigg.

Throughout the campaign, we heard from a community who felt distance from their local representatives – Many of whom did not even know there was an election on. Collectively, as elected Councillors, we have a responsibility to bridge that disconnect, ensuring that residents are actively engaged in both the activities of their Council, and with their local Councillors.

Here's to another successful term of Council.

For the past two-and-a-half years I have had the great pleasure of representing the people of Lake Macquarie as an elected Councillor. This afternoon, I received confirmation I have been endorsed as the Liberal Party’s lead candidate in north ward for the September 14 vote.

I look forward to the next 50-days of campaigning, and, fingers crossed, another successful term representing the people of Lake Macquarie.

Interesting to hear from Minister Rob Stokes at Friday's Property Council luncheon. From my perspective, it reiterated the need for us in Lake Macquarie to continue championing the story of investment in our City.

The main bowl at Charlestown Skate Park has been temporarily closed off due to damage affected by the recent wet weather.

Rectification works will take place, with the re-opening expected in August 2022.

In the meantime, skaters can still use other bowls within the park.
