Did you know that we offer affordable bespoke IT support for makers?

💡Do you need to set up an email market list on your website?

💡 Do you need to forward a custom domain to your Etsy shop?

💡 Do you want an email address that looks like [email protected]?

💡 Do you have software that is out of date and in desperate need of housekeeping?

Get in touch! Our bespoke IT services draw upon both Angela and Renee’s expertise in the land of computers and technology, which is vast and of a nerdlike status.

We hold your hand through the process and ensure you feel comfortable and safe.

We also are very open about what we do, and provide clear instructions when necessary so that you can learn along the way.

Because ever maker has a unique set of needs, generally we charge per hour, or create custom packages to suit your budget.

"Angela and Renee are incredibly generous with their expertise and passionate about helping the Australian maker community. They make me feel connected, empowered and supported, which as an artist running her own business from home, is precious indeed."

— Charlotte Brandis

Charlotte is an illustrator and product designer based on Ku-ring-gai Land in Sydney.

Through her ongoing mentorship with DBP, Charlotte has refined her business strategy and honed in on the essence of what drives her.

We’ve worked with Charlotte on optimising her website, market applications, navigating licensing agreements and the many ups and downs of running a small maker business.

Plus we recently celebrated Charlotte’s acceptance into her first Big Design Market, coming up this September!

Some of our members of MGTH and mentees of DBP will know I worked on this meticulous cross stitch during many of the pandemic lockdowns. Counting, measuring, counting, doing maths.

I can honestly say it’s probably the first and last cross stitch I’ll ever do.

This was a labour of love, because I knew it would turn out well, and I wasn’t wrong.

I have not unveiled it as yet, and I realise it was because it was meant to happy today. May the 4th.

Having seen the first Star Wars movie in person, in the front row, with my Dad, at a very young age, this intricate and special universe has always had a special place in my heart. The hero’s journey in all its wonderful cliche Lucas glory.

So happy Star Wars Day. I hope you like my Death Star cross stitch.

📣 Brisbane City Council and BrisStyle are calling all to apply for a highly-coveted spot in the 2022 Maker Entrepreneurship Program.

Running for 20 weeks with a combination of online and in-person activities, the program will equip you with the skills, tools, resources and community to build and maintain your emerging creative business.

This program is fully subsidised by Brisbane City Council, therefore is no cost to successful applicants to participate. How good is that!

John of Brighenti Design Studio (pictured) was a highly engaged mentee during the 2021 program and found he was pushed to do things for his business that he wouldn't have considered.

With the support of the program, John found himself pulled into new areas of learning and development.

Proudly, D'Alton Baker Productions form a team of expert mentors and will be teaching a series of seminars on marketing, content strategy and business management, specifically for makers.

If that hasn't convinced you 😉 , we will also be joined by maker community legends Kirsten Devitt (Each To Own), Rachel Kimberley and of course the folks at BrisStyle, just to name a few.

👉🏼 Don't delay on this one, applications close Sunday, November 21st at midnight.

This opportunity is so good you might even consider moving to Brisbane!

My phone keeps serving me random memories from my camera roll (yes, all 38,374 of them, not *all* of my systems are well oiled).

Today's highlight was from July 2014, featuring McKean Studio captured at the Finders Keepers in Melbourne. ✨

I often reference Megan and her product design and illustration business, McKean Studio, when working with mentees. I'm quietly shocked but delighted if I'm introducing them to Megan's story.

Until somewhat recently, Megan and her partner Joshua toured Australia selling illustrated cityscape souvenirs.

Their market stalls were constantly evolving and always drew a crowd. The solid visual merchandising coupled with Megan's strategic social media campaigns meant that each item for sale was a truly coveted collectable.

Megan and Joshua now live in Sweden, with Megan focusing predominately on her illustration practice, an impressive collection of illustrated books now under her belt.

Did you manage to score one of Megan's collectables while they were in production?

Meanwhile, I can't wait for Megan's soon to be released book - Seasons in the City!
