Forty-seven spins around the sun today. Also around this time of year Bhakti Rose turns five and .business is two. What a blessing this life is. Here's what I notice as I'm getting older:

🌸 I care A LOT less what people think.
🌸 I worry more about my kids. I want to protect them from all heartache, disappointment and suffering although I know that's not possible or even good for them.
🌸 I am grateful and less 'striving'.
🌸 I enjoy creativity and simple pleasures more than ever.
🌸 I still love to travel and think I always will.
🌸 Giving back matters more and more. I feel my privilege viscerally and don't want to waste a moment of it.
🌸 I feel really well and healthy. I'm very sure I won't be going down the HRT or fillers or botox road and I'm glad for that. This body has created and birthed five humans and it feels pretty good!

Last one in this series and OMG I am OBSESSED. Trust me when I say I have been through MANY amazing oils, lotions and potions in my time. This is hands down my all time favourite product of all time ever, ever, ever. I bought it in India in a fancy shopping mall at the beginning of this year and I've been rationing it out to myself drop by drop ever since. It is not cheap (especially by Indian standards) but it is literally and metaphorically liquid gold. It does contain ghee and milk, the idea of which I find a bit off-putting in skin care (I'm also ultra grossed out by the idea of tallow in skincare which I know is very trendy at the moment) but honestly in the application it just feels so good on my skin. Saffron is another delicious ingredient in this product which gives a strong (but in my opinion delicious) fragrance. My skin has never felt better, it's a facial in a bottle. More

I love fragrance and I love this one the most. While I did run a small DoTerra business for a while which I'm no longer focused on I still ADORE their products. Passion is cinnamon and jasmine and love and joy in a bottle. I also love DoTerra's Whisper fragrance. The good thing about both is there are no nasty chemicals, just natural potent essential oils that smell divine.

🌹 INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY - Five elements of womanhood I have come to know as truth🌹

Being a woman is not a trend. It’s not a brand. It’s not something that needs fixing. After decades of working with women through ayurveda, birth work, yoga, and feminine wisdom traditions here’s what I know to be true:

✨ 1. Women are the keepers of deep, embodied wisdom. Your body is not a problem to be solved, it is an ancient intelligence to be trusted. No external authority, system, or expert can know your truth better than you.

🔥 2. Capitalism and the patriarchy profits from women doubting themselves. Women have been told to outsource their power for too long to doctors, diets, ‘experts,’ and institutions. Radical self-trust is the greatest act of rebellion. In birth, health, or your work - intuition is everything.

🌿 3. Birth (and life) should be led by women, not controlled by systems. Women have been birthing babies for millennia but modern medicine acts like we can’t do it without being managed, numbed, or ‘saved’ from ourselves. Birth is not a medical event, it’s a portal of initiation. The same applies to how we heal, lead, and live.

🌙 4. The feminine isn’t weak, it’s the missing medicine. In a world obsessed with hustle, structure, and strategy, we are here to reclaim flow, intuition, and softness - not as weakness, but as power. Ayurveda, bhakti, and feminine wisdom traditions remind us that rest, nourishment, and cyclical living are radical acts in a culture that demands we burn out.

🌺 5. Women supporting women will change the world.
Patriarchy taught us to compete. Colonialism erased our traditions. The modern world made us feel like we had to do it all alone. But when women lift each other up we create a new history.

The Sea of Nectar is my favourite of her range but I also love all of her oils (chai coffee abhyanga oil anyone?). While a focus on external appearances isn't my usual priority, after a BIG month in February of thinking about and holding space for Spiritual Activism (in the Bhakti Women Summit) it's time for something frivolous (but still ethically sound!).

Let's kick off with my favourite nail polish brand .co I love these guys because they are ethical and clean (as clean as nail polish can be). I have a bit of love hate relationship with painting my nails. It's one of the few beauty regimes I enjoy and love the look of, but there is still a part of me that wonders if it's necessary and increasingly thinks about the carbon footprint of superficial adornment. Anyway I recently treated myself to this gold sparkle top coat (because gold sparkle) and I love, love, love it. Sienna have some of my favourite colours too especially if like me you're a gal who loves pink.
