Loving and Gracious God,

We come before you with weary hearts and tired bodies, carrying the weight of parenthood on our shoulders. In our weariness, we seek your strength and comfort.

Lord, you know the depths of our love for our children, and the heights of our hopes for their futures. You also know our struggles, our doubts, and our fears.

Grant us patience, O God, when it wears thin, when tempers flare and misunderstandings multiply. Help us to respond with love, even in moments of frustration.

We pray for wisdom to guide our children, to know when to hold tight and when to let go, to discern how to nurture their spirits and challenge their minds.

In times of exhaustion, renew our energy, Lord. When we feel overwhelmed, remind us to breathe, to stop and to be mindful of your everlasting presence.

Help us find moments of joy amidst the chaos, to laugh with our children and marvel at their growth. May we treasure the fleeting moments of their childhood, even as we navigate its challenges.

Lord, when we falter and make mistakes, grant us the humility to seek forgiveness, and the strength to try again.

Surround us with supportive communities, O God. May we find fellowship with other parents, sharing burdens and celebrations alike.

Remind us, Father, that you parent us with perfect love. May we reflect your grace and patience in our own parenting, trusting in your guidance every step of the way.

We entrust our children and our parenting journey to you, knowing that your love for them surpasses even our own.

Kairos Outside is an ecumenical ministry and support to women who have been impactedby having a loved one in prison, or who have formerly been in prison.

It begins with a Guest Weekend designed to create a safe and understanding environment in which participants can share with other women who have been through similar experiences.

Kairos Outside Canberra No. 20 will be held at Murrumbateman from Friday 1 November to Sunday 3 November.

Kairos Outside is underscored and supported by prayer. Everyone is invited to participate in our 24-hour ‘round-the-clock’ Prayer Vigil during our 1-3 November Guest Weekend.
