It’s been an absolute pleasure to collaborate again with the team for their INNOVOCEAN event this year.
If you haven't yet delved into the remarkable work of Ocean Impact Organisation, now is the time.
Their relentless dedication is reshaping perspectives on our oceans, emphasizing the direct correlation between oceanic health and the fragile state of our home planet (and we humans who call it home).
OIO supports visionaries, entrepreneurs, and startups committed to catalysing positive change for our oceans. They do this by equipping these change-makers with resources, connections, and funds to help facilitate their innovative ideas to safeguard marine ecosystems and the broader environment.
This year, New Future Folk produced the INNOVOCEAN 2023 event at the ionic .museum hosting 250 guests passionate about the ocean. The day started with an incredible smoking ceremony by outside the iconic Sydney harbour.
Designing an event with the planet in mind is what we are passionate about. While it presents its challenges, we revel in devising future-focused solutions at all levels of the planning phase.
We work with our aligned partners to ensure the event is produced to a high standard whilst adhering to our sustainability principles - it's about conscientious planning that minimises unnecessary negative impacts.
A standout highlight from this year's event was our collaboration with Aquacultr providing our guests with the delectable taste of sustainably sourced Barramundi - from their reticulated aquaculture system (RAS) farm in Port Stephens.
This culinary choice (in an otherwise vegetarian catering package) was a deliberate nod to the potential of sustainable seafood to replace otherwise harmful products.
