Here’s our Behind The Scenes reel from today’s successful live cross to Channel 7’s Sunrise.

My role was ensuring the live camera feed from aerial cinematographer Peter Beeh, reliably reached national TV via TVU Network technology.

For the first time in Australia, the Blackhawk helicopter airlifted a brand new EV car from the Central Coast to Sydney, NSW, to one lucky prize winner.

Peter followed and filmed in a second chopper behind them, while we monitored the feed from the ground and watched it live on TV.

Challenges of how to maintain a strong connection while flying up to 2000ft in the air, were overcome with 8 modems across multiple networks on board the chopper…

Backups upon backups is the key!😀

11 years ago almost to the day, I had my first real experience in a live production as an OB camera operator for the Kennedy Awards for journalism.

It was my first taste in a live production environment and working under a live director - and I fell in love with the industry!

Fast forward to last night, I had the honour of live directing the vision of the very same show with my own team.

The experience was a full-circle moment that showcased the amazing journey in my career—from starting out in camera work to stepping into the live director's chair.

It was a pleasure taking on the production under Next Up Digital and the Kennedy Foundation, and I'm so proud of the amazing work from my team.

This mostly self-taught journey has been filled with growth, learning, hiccups, and a passion for storytelling. I'm grateful for every opportunity, challenge, and lesson learned along the way.

Here's to many more years of creating, directing, and bringing events to life!

🎥 Exciting News! 🎥

After a lot of time, planning and investment, I'm thrilled to announce the most recent major upgrade to my live production console – full 4K live production capability!

After a complete rebuild I can now offer a full 4K HDR solution from cameras to end viewer.

This means 4K HDR all the way through the pipeline, from cameras, cabling, fibre converters, wireless links, live graphics, video assets, slow motion replay, hardware recorders and bonded encoders.

I'm looking forward to producing some amazing content for you and your clients moving forward.

Necessity certainly was the mother of this invention with nothing else like it available on the market.

Moving a lot of camera and live production equipment every day, in and out of carparks, loading docks, steep ramps etc, it was only a matter of time before I cracked it and and made the trolley self propelled.

A couple on months of planning, machining parts and a lot of trial and error I'm Very impressed with the 1st version.

Easily moves 1/4 tonne and runs on a couple of V mount camera batteries.

Phase 2 is going to be the challenge of conquering stairs.

Exciting News! 🚀 Over the past 6 months, I've been working in the background building a proof of concept Outside Broadcast (OB) van.

My goal has been to create a more streamlined, compact OB live production solution tailored for the Broadcast and Live Streaming industry. The result is a significantly smaller, lighter weight and more refined solution which still maintains all of the functionality of a larger OB system.

The van includes a fully redundant and independant power supply with Wireless Camera Links, Tally, Comms, Live Replay, Drone & PTZ camera options and direct links to broadcast networks through TVU, Dejero and LiveU.

Yesterday marked a significant milestone as the van successfully executed its first live run during a multicam sports live stream event in Orange, NSW. With a seamless 2-hour bump-in for 3 cameras, live graphics, commentary and integaration into in house technologies the efficiency of the system exceeded expectations.

While the van is still in the conceptual stage, its performance has showcased promising results.

I'm excited to continue pushing the boundaries and refining this innovative solution.
