PAK-INDIA ASIA CUP MATCH TO BE INTERRUPTED BY RAIN
The rainy weather in Kandy is expected to derail the much-anticipated Pakistan-India match in the Asia Cup 2023, which is scheduled for September 2 at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, as meteorological forecasters predict rainfall throughout the week.
According to the BBC weather forecast, there is a 70% chance of rain throughout the game.
Meanwhile, World Weather Online predicts 102.55mm of rain on Saturday, with a similar forecast for Friday, which could create a delay in the highly awaited game.
Showers are expected to fall continuously from 7 a.m. to midnight, which means the game could conclude in a draw.
Winds are also forecast during the game, which may have an impact on the playing conditions and general mood.
During the game, temperatures will range between 20 and 24 degrees Celsius.
The two last played in a 50-over match in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Cricket World Cup 2019, with the Blues winning.
However, their most recent match was in the ICC T20 Cricket World Cup 2022, which India won at the legendary Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia.
Even if the game is halted due to rain, the two teams will meet again in the Super Four stage if they advance from the group stages.
Pakistan and India are in Group A with Nepal at the Asia Cup. Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are in Group B, with Afghanistan.
