Hunter Valley cattle producers have been warned to stay vigilant for bovine trichomoniasis, with six active cases reported in the region. Bovine trichomoniasis is a disease of the reproductive tract. In cows, infection leads to embryonic and early foetal death, abortion, and foetal maceration. Local Land Services district veterinarian Leanne Polsen, Scone, said the notifiable disease was common in Queensland but numbers were increasing in NSW.

There is no treatment for the disease.

Looks like a wet Saturday for us with that rainfall band streaming in from the inland. So far Singleton has recorded 25mm, Scone 32mm and Maitland 29mm. Hopefully the rain eases before we see any significant rises in our river systems. So far it's 'steady' as you go across the region. Just adding some further figures Timor and Blandford 50mm, Merriwa 35mm and Kar Springs 45mm.
