"Living In The Land Of Oz" is an all-Australian music, news and interviews show airing 2-4pm on Mondays. Host Leigh “Lee-Roy” Stancliffe presents a broad mix of Australian pop and rock music from the 50’s to today, with the occasional song by a Kiwi act slipped in. There’s also one or two interviews every week, from major artists to up-and-coming independent acts, and occasionally with music journ
alists, authors, TV presenters, comedians and other people in the Australian entertainment industry. He presented Australian independent music program “Support Your Local Rock-Gods” from 2001 to 2004. After feeling restricted only playing unsigned acts the show evolved into “Living In The Land Of Oz”. The show is named after Ross Wilson’s first solo single, a song about Aboriginal rights. Lee-Roy chose this as the show’s name as it includes acts that were born in Australia, people that were born overseas but now call Australia home, as well as the people whose ancestors have been here for thousands of years
Lee-Roy also presents "I Like Your New Stuff Better Than Your Old Stuff", a 1 hour show of new release Australia music. It airs Tuesdays at 10pm on 979fm. www.facebook.com/ilikeyournewstuff
Over the years Lee-Roy has interviewed artist such as Angie Hart (Frente!/Splendid), Angry Anderson, Glenn and Adam from Augie March, Josh from Behind Crimson Eyes, Bertie Blackman, Billy Birmingham (The 12th Man), Natalie and Carlo from Blue King Brown, Brian Nankervis (RocKwiz), Clare Bowditch, Lucius & Luke from Cog, Dan Kelly, David Graney, Defryme, Diesel, Broderick Smith and Kerryn Tolhurst from The Dingoes, Darryl Cotton (RIP), Adam Thompson from Chocolate Starfish, Dom Mariani, Andrew Cox from The Fauves, Gil Matthews from Billy Thorpe & the Aztecs, Gin Wigmore, The Grates, Greg Macainsh from Skyhooks, Kate Miller-Heidke, Katie Noonan, Killing Heidi, Kim Salmon, Adalita and Dean Turner (RIP) from Magic Dirt, Mandy Kane, Greedy Smith from Mental As Anything, Michael Gudinski, Phil Judd (The Swingers/Split Enz), Ross Wilson, Sarah Blasko, Skipping Girl Vinegar, Sophie Koh, Steve Lucas (X/Bigger Than Jesus), Stevie Wright, Vanessa Amorosi, Warren "Pig" Morgan (Chain/The Aztecs) and more, which you can download or stream from the Interviews section of http://www.livinginthelandofoz.com
