Green South Records Roots, Folk, Celtic label based in Melbourne, Australia. Acts like Cobbers, who released 11 albums in total, none of which were available online.

Green South Records started primarily because there is a lot of great music out there that hadn’t made it into the digital realm. I felt strongly that we needed to ensure these great albums were preserved and the acts who made them received their due recognition. That’s where it all began. The label started towards the end of 2016 after lots of encouragement and support from friends and musical co

lleagues. Since we began we’ve been growing exponentially; with every release we get some more traction, with every bit of support we’re able to connect with more music lovers and better promote the artists who are on the label. In addition to reissuing classic albums, we’re committed to nurturing and promoting new and emerging talent and in doing so make Green South Records the place to go to find great Celtic, Folk and Roots music.

Gday folks,

I’m disappointed to be writing this but it seems my Victorian concert appearances for this weekend, both the Winter Cozy Concert with and my opening slot for album launch in Northcote have to be called off, due to me being a resident of New South Wales.

Both concerts are of course still going ahead and I’m certain they’ll be just as wonderful without my involvement. Go and support some performers this weekend!

Take care.

Featuring some of Australia's finest players, David Isom's latest release 'Sea Songs' is a welcome addition to the Green South Records family!
This compilation of 19 tracks feature David's favourites from three of his albums, two of which were 'Down to the Sea' Volumes 1&2, plus a couple of related songs from 'Songs of Australia' recorded in 1985.
Aside from founding the Bushwackers, playing with the Sundowners and Captain Matchbox Whoopee Band, David has also circumnavigated the globe aboard his yacht Eliana, making him uniquely positioned to perform and deeply connect with these songs.
Sea Songs tells the stories of life at sea, the joys, the hardships, the history.
Joining David on these recordings was a veritable who's who - Hugh McDonald-Guitars, Peter Anderson-Button Accordion, Michael Atkinson-keyboard, Alex Black - Violin, Allan Bowles - Harmonica, George Butrumlis - Piano accordion, Rose Bygrave - Backing vocals, Brian Czempinski - Drums, percussion, Tim Hannaford - Bass guitar, backing vocals Michael Harris- Violin, Shelley Heath- Violin, Marcia Howard - Backing vocals, Tony Leonard-Piano, Mandolin, Ukulele

Not much music stuff going on lately for a few different reasons, I am however looking forward to singing with a whole bunch of good mates in Broken Hill later this month!
Wednesday the 23rd at the Trade Hall. Check my Facebook for more ticket information.
