“🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️Tomorrow is the start of Trans Awareness Week and I stand proudly with the trans and gender diverse community.
I have had the privilege of supporting many trans young people over the past 6 years through work and they are the most bright, resilient and inspiring people you could ever meet.
This year has been even more challenging with discrimination and transphobia particularly aimed at trans and gender diverse young people, so our work as allies needs even more attention.
Next week I am raising money for Transcend Australia, an organisation aimed at supporting, affirming and celebrating trans and gender diverse children.
On Friday, Saturday and Sunday (17, 18, and 19 Nov) I will be walking from my home in Kensington, down the South East coastline of Melbourne, all the way to Portsea, a total of 105km.
It's no easy feat, so please show your support by donating whatever you can 🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️”

The new Pride in Employment program will give LGBTIQ+ job-seekers the opportunity to connect with resources and services to support career development in a welcoming and inclusive space at the Victorian Pride Centre. For our first Pride in Employment activation, we welcome Fitted for Work to the centre on Thursday 23 November.
A fabulous representative from Fitted for Work will be sharing information about their unique services from 10am to 2pm, aimed at providing women with practical skills, self-esteem, and know-how so that they can move forward with confidence in their careers.
Registrations are not required. Simply pop by and say hello!

This week is Transgender Awareness Week (13-19th Nov) and is a one-week celebration leading up to the Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDoR), which memorializes victims of transphobic violence.

The first Monday of the month means it's time for Marisa to head on over to JOY 94.9, joining the JOY Breakfast team to talk all things people and pets! 🐾 On today’s show, Marisa, Rach, and Luke discussed the benefits of having pets in the workplace – from reducing stress, boosting team moral, and highlighting that all important need for work-life balance! 🧡
Also, on the show and proving just how wonderful our Pawleagues can be, was special guest, Yakobi – Luke’s gorgeous rescued Alaskan Malamute! 😍 He had a fabulous time waltzing about the studio, claiming pats and cuddles, and making everyone smile during his radio debut!
