The Loddon Times was established in 1995 through the amalgamation of newspapers at Boort and Wedderburn. The diverse southern region of the shire, once renowned as a rich gold mining area, includes towns such as Wedderburn, Korong Vale, Inglewood, Bridgewater, Tarnagulla, Newbridge and Laanecoorie. Broadacre dryland and irrigation farming dominates to the north, centred around communities includin

g Boort, Pyramid Hill, Mitiamo, Dingee and Serpentine. The Loddon Times is produced in Kerang at the office of the Gannawarra Times.
