This quote use to really get to me. It felt so very accurate and true!!!!! It frustrated me that it did, but I didn't know how to change it.
I use to try to achieve exactly what this quote says and it nearly broke me, several times. But it didn't.....
Instead I acknowledged what I was trying to do wasn't serving anyone well - especially not myself.
It all comes down to our own expectations on ourselves and those we allow others to have on us.
So I changed. Changed my expectations.
The ones I'd set for myself as Mum, and the ones I've set as a "working mum".
Things don't always need to be perfect, in fact they rarely should be. When you're juggling a dozen balls, one or two or more are going to drop. And that's fine, they can be picked up the next day. S**t is going to happen. It's life. Let it be. Let it go. Don't worry. And relax.
I'm a Mum who works and my kids know that and I'm sure when they're old enough will be proud of me that I did and what I achieved whilst were little.
I'm also a "worker" who is a Mum with young kids. And eeeeeeeveryone I work with knows ALL about them. They're shown photos and videos and told stories all day everyday. And when it's needed my girls get involved in Zoom meetings and all that has done is create a lot of love and laughter and closer bonds with the awesome people I work with. Some times they're are tears and meetings are ended sooner, but hey, that's life. So what.
And geez it feels good to think that way ❤

We've got this Melbourne Mumma's 💕💕 All our little one's want and need is to be loved, fed and cuddled. This is survival mode, just do what you can and if you manage to thrive in any aspect then that's incredible too. Big love to everyone xx

ABOUT THE PODCAST
My name is Elle and I'm a mum of two beautiful girls (aged 3 and 1) who works full time in the banking and finance industry in a senior sales role that is both highly rewarding and highly demanding, but I absolutely love it. In addition to managing this role and trying to prove myself as a powerful female in my employment sector I also strive to be the absolute best version of myself and in turn mum I can be, manage a healthy relationship with my husband of 5 years (16 years together) and aim for ‘date nights’ so that our lives aren’t all about our girls (who are our world!!), build my relationships with and regularly catch up with friends and family, be a good mum to my fur babies (2 dogs, 1 cat), work out, eat healthily, meditate, read, travel, cook, clean, relax, volunteer, Marie Kondo my home, study, enjoy life, participate in self-care (I could go on and on)……it’s a lot! I want it all and I’m working and trying constantly to have it all but sometimes (much of the time) it’s a real struggle.
I’m a huge fan of podcasts and have been on the search to hear from other women in my position – those trying to juggle it all with family/partner/friends whilst also building a career. My search for such a podcast proved futile so with the support and encouragement from some amazing women in my life, I’ve decided to create my own podcast series (why not)!
In this series I'll be interviewing a range of women working daily to try and ‘have it all’; to hear of their successes, challenges, any advice they can offer and really allow them a platform to tell their stories. Because sometimes it feels too much and a little lonely and it's comforting to know you’re not alone and that you’re being heard. The purpose of the podcast is aimed to help other women currently in similar positions and offer some words of wisdom or encouragement to those who will soon be or in the future be 'working, career-focused mums' and might be thinking it won't be possible to 'have your cake and eat it too'. Because whilst it can be a real challenge, you can make it work and its oh so beautiful and rewarding when it does - PLUS what role models we are to our babies.
