And with that, the end of the year is upon us.

It's been busy, plans have changed and there's been a lot of work going on in the background.

Next year I'm hoping to show you the work we've been doing and even see some of it published.

So, for a final post for the year, all the best for Christmas and New Year. May the new year be a kind one for you.

I have to wonder what it is with Poe and Shelley that are making this particular module so easy to write.

I am really liking just how flexible these rules are. They're just working even with all these different eras.

Can I count on some people to help me playtest?

25/06/2021

I'm really liking this particular little module.

Now to get some art to back it up. Let's hope my rules are good enough to handle it.

22/06/2021

I'm starting to enjoy this module writing for the moment.

So many ideas I can play around with, so many possible options. Multigenerational conspiracies and immortals? This is proving very interesting.

Let's follow this rabbit hole and see what comes out.

21/06/2021

So, a question for the RPG gamers who follow me.

Setting books and modules/adventures.

What makes something must buy to you?

I'd like to hear your thoughts.

18/06/2021

Just a little note from me this time.

Never say never. You don't know what's going to happen in the future. Especially where your work takes you.

Or that idea you put down you can recycle into a nice little addition somewhere else.

15/06/2021

So, module writing.

Easy? Nope.

Wrote myself a guide to keep myself on track. It's actually useful.

Now, let's see if this idea for the RPG holds up with these module ideas I'm having.

10/06/2021

So, semi-related to the whole flags thing.

Unit patches and ship patches, I'm finding them way easier to come up with. And fun, actual fun.

Let's hope this continues. It's so refreshing.

07/06/2021

It's nice to be back to some other projects.

This war game, especially. Now I've got the flags for the major factions out, I can start playing around with some more ideas.

Flags, actually hard to come up with.

03/06/2021

That's it.

Off at the reader.

This is getting actually exciting. Still a few more steps, but it's in sight. July and everything should be ready.

01/06/2021

We're getting close to something actually being released.

I'm getting a copy edit and some art done for it.

And I might owe a former lecturer a drink, that diploma of mine is paying off.

20/05/2021

So, I'm already at version three.

That didn't take long.

At least I can see the word count.

It's good, it's real good.

18/05/2021

This week I think it's going to be time to try and formally write some of this stuff up.

No more drafts, let's see if I can't write this up properly and get it to a proof reader, editor.

Wish me luck.

14/05/2021

So, module writing.

Not as easy as I thought. Especially if I want to have all of these different time settings this rule set is good for.

Might be another week of some pretty hard work.

12/05/2021

So, another thing you learn pretty quickly when you're trying to publish your own RPG system.

Module writing is a must.

Think it's time to write the module writing rules. I

05/05/2021

Now this is a question I didn't think I would ever ask myself.

To OGL or not to OGL. That is a question.

03/05/2021

Rewrites, something you're going to get used to when you've got this job of mine.

There's some good stuff coming. Just have to sit down and make sure it's all in the right tone, right phrasing, right spirit for this project.

29/04/2021

So, equipment lists.

Not easy, not easy at all.

Let's sleep on this and see if I've not missed something obvious. I think a rewrite might be in order. At least reordering.

26/04/2021

So, good news, that holiday was really helpful.

I've got a new plan and it's going to get you guys something playable, sooner rather than later.

This is going to be an interesting couple of weeks.

22/04/2021

So, been a while.

I've been busy. Actually really busy,

Twelve thousand words busy.

Here's hoping things keep going this way and you guys can get a basic playtest kit soon.

24/03/2021

I'm going to slow the posts here down a bit.

I'm going through the portfolio and I'm looking at a few of these ideas. Time to really get a move on with them.

22/03/2021

This isn't the first time I've asked you guys a question.

This one might be a bit different.

If there's a question you ever wanted to ask a game dev, now's your chance. I can't promise I can answer it, but if I do have an answer, I'll give it.

Looking forward to what you guys ask.

19/03/2021

So it's been a while since I posted something.

Needless to say, I've been working on a few things and it's been a busy month so far.

Hopefully a few more posts from me are coming up soon.

28/02/2021

And with that, another month done and gone.

Plenty to do and plenty done.

Here's to you guys seeing it a table soon.

25/02/2021

Another lesson, piece of advice for you up and coming developers out there.

On prototyping, seriously take your time and really put the work in. I don't mean just make a prototype out of what you've got and play it. I mean really sit down and make it, break it, remake it, break it again. Push it in ways you don't think it will ever go. Make sure the rules you set for it are the rules it actually needs.

More time here is more time saved down the line.

24/02/2021

This one is going to be cryptic.

Keep an eye out, as you can see, there's been plenty of work going on in the background.

Expect some news soon and expect some images too.

23/02/2021

Another time I want to talk about the last post I made.

I still think that applies to RPG games without obvious settings, multiple settings. The rules just get written to support a wider scope of play. When you need 'that' rule, that reading, you choose it.

When you don't, you don't take it.

At least in theory. Pretty sure you can point me to exceptions, so let's hear them.
