I just made honeycomb, using the recipe from the CWA Classic book. It used honey, I think I prefer golden syrup, but it tastes good.

I collect old recipe books, one recipe caught my eye, a meat sandwich spread, and I like potted meat.
My mum used to cook a tongue and press it, by putting the tongue in a bowl and place a small plate and a heavy weight on top. This pressed the meat so it could be sliced for sandwiches.
I do the same with corn meat/ silverside.

Would anyone have any sandwich spreads they could share?

Oh my goodness, someone has reinvented the wheel. These new chefs think they have come up with different recipes. Look in old recipe books you will see custard powder has been used in baking for ever. And it’s a known fact that custard powder is a substitute for eggs in a recipe

It's raining today, so I had the cooking bug. Today I made a coconut chicken curry in this Instant Pot. It only took 30 minutes to produce my curry.

My recipe: 1 kg chicken drumsticks, 2 potatoes peeled and chopped, I small sweet potato chopped and peeled, 1/2 an onion peeled and chopped, 1/2 bag of frozen veges (any), 1 can coconut cream, 1 chicken stock cube, Keens curry powder, tumeric.
Pressure cooked for 30 minutes.
From this recipe, I added rice and made 6 freezer meals.

Feeling pretty proud, I bought some crappy mangos from the side of the road, they took over a week to ripen. So this morning I made mango jam.
I turned a bad item into something good.

Recipe: 2 cups mango. Approximately 5 decent size mangos, peeled and chopped, juice from seed squeezed into pot.
1&1/2 cup sugar
Juice of two lemons.

Boil for approximately 20 minutes. Test by dipping a spoon in, wipe the middle of the back of the spoon, if it leaves a clean trail, jam is ready.

I have been recently watching video's on 3D printing of Food

I saw on Tiktok where a lady used the first machine in the picture to print images on to donuts,
she was picked up by a fashion agency to print their logo on to donuts.
it is amazing. I would love to try it. I've been looking for such affordable products.
