Muriel Dillon passed away on January 25th, 2005, and is buried in the Coffs Harbour Historical Cemetery. Her story has been shared with us via the Sawtell Historical Society.
The society has also published two books, 'The Early Days of Sawtell' and 'The People who shaped our Village', which are available for sale at the Sawtell Historical Museum. You can find the museum at the Big 4 Sawtell Caravan Park, and it's open on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from 10am until 12 noon.

Sawtell News is back with an exciting issue for you.
The Sawtell Chilli Festival is just around the corner, and we can't wait for it to start. Karen Martini will be the guest celebrity chef this year, and we're all looking forward to seeing her on the main stage. Besides, the Chilli Chicken Wing Eating Competition was a real hit last year, and we're hoping for another thrilling round this time.
Additionally, there's a Winter's Solstice celebration at the Boambee East Community Centre before the festival, so be sure to check that out too.
We've also got some great events lined up at Levenvale Farm and the Archive, and we're featuring Billie-Jo Porter's debut album launch.
Our photographer of the month is Jude De La Torre, and he has some stunning photos of the local Coffs Coast.
