Had an awesome time helping out my good mate noéko with the filming and editing of the XTERRA Asia-Pacific Dunsborough recap video.

The brief: Make it EPIC!!

It felt so good to be back in Augusta again; camera at the ready, drone in the sky and mics recording, ready to capture a series of moments to then craft into this little story-led promo video for Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse.

Thanks so much to Paul Sofilas for giving me ample quality dialogue to work with (as always), and to Holly and the team at The Capes Foundation for being so great to work with 😊

Go and check out the lighthouse when you get a chance, the amount of work that’s gone into the restoration is truly mind boggling so it’s never looked better. But don’t stop there, go and immerse yourself into the rest of what the cape and the town of Augusta has to offer 😎

Rock The Boat Film Festival is a major community event and 2022 is its inaugural year! The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive and this morning our heart's were further warmed: We were given feedback from a person that this festival has motivated him to start work on a project he never thought he'd get to, and he was quite moved by that. It bought a tear to our eyes, too. There is no greater reward for us than to think that this event is inspiring people to act on their goals and dreams, or that they have a platform to share their stories to their own community, inevitably becoming part of our visual history data base. Your participation through your entries is crucial to us, and we are grateful to you for sharing your videos and stories. We also wish to wholeheartedly thank the people, businesses and organisations that help make a major event like this possible. Without their generosity and support, this could not be possible. Our gratitude goes out to: Our Organisers RHB FILMS in association with Baldivis Rotary, Major Sponsor City of Rockingham – Local Government, and Event Partners Films by Trav, Baldivis Parks, Impressions Catering, Rose Social, NE Design - Planning & Styling, Ace Cinemas - Rockingham, Street Hassle Events, Proactive Administration Tourism Rockingham, Crazy Crimson Hat, Pandora Rockingham.

There is still plenty of time to get filming/videoing/story telling... everything you need to do to tell your story, your way. Remember to check out the T&C's on our website: www.rocktheboatfilmfestival.com.au You have until 31st August to submit your entries!

"We are a community business"
Not a sentence you'd expect to hear from an automotive battery shop right?

Meet couple Brett and Linda, founders of Powerhouse Batteries in Butler WA. They pride themselves on putting customer satisfaction, quality products & service, and most importantly, community FIRST.

This time last year I hung out with these legends and their team for half a day to produce a Story Film (seen here) to help increase awareness of their brand and develop trust with their audience. We achieved this by using an story-driven approach that embraces authenticity and relatability allowing their audience to connect with them on a more human level.

Thanks Renae and the whole team behind Rock The Boat Film Festival for having me “on board”😉.

It was a fun couple of days helping out with the promo shoot and I can’t wait to see all the short film submissions at the Gala awards night.

If you or someone you know has a passion for storytelling through video, make sure you get involved and submit a short film in the Rock The Boat Film Festival 🎥

It's SHOUT OUT time for another one of our amazing sponsors. Without sponsors, Rock The Boat Film Festival could not be possible and we are so grateful for their support.

Aside from awesome promotional videos for business, Films by Trav do LIVE-STREAMING! We're super pleased to announce that Films by Trav will be live-streaming the Gala Awards Night for the Festival in November. It's a very specialised field and we are grateful for their support. Nannup, host to the epic SEVEN gravel race, captured here in all its raw beautiful glory by the legends Marco Noe (noéko film) and Alex Clapin (Untamed Media) 🚴‍♀️🚴

14/05/2022

Myself, Marco Noe (noéko film) and Alex Clapin (Untamed Media) were supposed to be in Nannup this weekend to film the SEVEN Gravel World Series event, well.... Marco and Alex ARE there, and they just made this sick little video to welcome the participants!

As for myself, well I tested positive to Covid on Tuesday so I had to isolate for 7 days. Devo'd!! But I respect the rules that are in place to keep everyone as safe as possible.

Keep an eye out for more collabs between myself and these legends in the future!! 🤙🏻

From 400 year old Karri trees to the vast white panoramic sands of the Yeagarup Dunes, experience the contrast in terrain with Graeme Dearle of Pemberton Discovery Tours and his beloved Troopy.

This film is part of a series called Stories Along The Edge that Sarina Kamini and I produced for Australia's South West and The South West Edge.

Come along and experience a moment in the life of a truffle hunter with Australian Truffle Hunters at The Truffle & Wine Co in Manjimup WA.

On a cool autumn morning among the browning leaves of the hazelnut trees, Sarina and I got to hang out and film with Adrian and his trio of beautiful black labs; Charley boy, Punzie and Marni, who showed us what it takes to find these little bulbs of black umami gold.

This film is part of a series called Stories Along The Edge that Sarina Kamini and I produced for Australia's South West and The South West Edge.

That face 🥺

This is Tycho (named after the musician/producer). She was a rescue from Cat Haven WA and we’re so grateful to have her in our lives, except for 3am zoomies! She’s one of two cats, the others name is Fidget who we also rescued over 12yrs ago. They make us laugh, especially their unique vocabulary and mannerisms, and they’re always there to comfort us if we need it.

They’re strictly indoor cats, for a few reasons:
- Tycho’s pink nose needs to stay out of the sun (I can relate!)
- So that they don’t harm native wildlife
- Because we love them and we’d be devastated if anything ever happened to them out on the street.

They’re allowed to roam the backyard if we’re supervising, and I’ve also built them an enclosed cat-run where they can chill out and get some fresh air whenever they like. However, Tycho has oodles of energy and loves to run so I’m starting to train her on a lead and taking her to the park for walks. The hope is that one day we can go on bigger adventures together, maybe even camping… but baby steps!

If you or someone you know has trained a cat on a lead before and has some tips, I’m all ears!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the the Mums out there! You’re all superwomen!!

This is my Ma. She’s a mother of 4 (I’m the youngest of my siblings), and a grandma to 7 grandkids.

Thank you for your strength and perseverance through the tough times; thank you for your smile and laughter through the good times.

Love ya Mum ❤️
