Weather is wreaking havoc on the East Coast with trees down and landslips closing roads.
A tree has been blown down at Orford School, thankfully, no children or members of the public were injured.
As well, there has been a significant landslip on Old Coach Road resulting in authorities closing the road.
A traffic counter was installed on Old Coach Road recently, over the quieter period, which indicated an average of approximately 36 cars use it each day.
The traffic volume increases on this road over the holiday and Christmas season.
Council staff inspected the site on Saturday and another 70 metre long portion of the road has severe cracking and may also collapse.
The recent inclement weather is likely the cause of the landslip. The road is sign posted to alert drivers to the road closure and hazard.

The Great Eastern Wine Week, a celebration of all things food and wine from Tasmania’s east coast is now under way.
We’ve dispatched our intrepid reporter Mike Kerr to take it in.
He’ll be required to taste some of Tasmania’s best vintages, attend a variety of live music events, cooking classes and dine on only the best seafood and steak, cheeses and whisky’s.
There are an amazing 60 food and wine events in a program that takes in the entire east coast.
It’s a tough job, but someone has to do it on behalf of you, our readers.
Mike’s report will be published next month in the East Coast View, Sorell Times and Tasman Gazette. Keep an eye out!
Tickets and full program details can be found at www.greateasternwineweek.com.au
