Holy 👀. Look at what Sarah Austin has made up for her wall! A huge, custom made, one of a kind MATRIARCH frame, complete with a signed Total Buzzkill crossover tee, poster, event flyer and BTS grabs!

My wall is covered with framed posters of classic horror films so it’s pretty epic to be making a splash in somebody else’s home the way other filmmakers have done in mine. Thank you for being a fan Sarah, this motivates me to keep pushing!

Going through some BTS shots from THE MATRIARCH and stumbled upon this awesome candid pic by Clinton Walker of our leading lady Juliette Greenfield.

There’s something really special about it I think. It looks like an archival photo from Halloween or Evil Dead or TCM or something.

I pretty much haven’t stopped moving since we shot so it’s nice to go back through these now that the dust is *starting to* settle. I want to start posting a lot more over the coming weeks, check out our page Duckpond Productions if it interests you 🤗

Hey guys. Fun casting call for anyone interested. Filming a music video for local 80s style band The Lovebombers.

“Combining unsubtle glam metal charm and persuasive, anthemic songwriting hooks, The Lovebombers are bringing the party directly to your ears.”

We’re looking for 3-4 ”corporate types” who aren’t afraid to get silly and let loose when the beat drops. Would suit people who like to improv - beginners encouraged to apply. Middle aged preferred, but open to all.

Shooting Sunday the 12th, location TBA but it will be somewhere in the northern rivers.

Unpaid, footage for reels will be provided.

WOW. Last night we played our film to I think around 70 people in the Gold Coast. Slightly quieter crowd this time, but I did catch a few jumps/gasps/laughs in the audience 😅

This was the last of three free test screenings we did to guage the crowd reactions, and I’m honestly blown away by the love and support that has been shown to our team.

We put everything we had into our film so we wouldn’t die wondering. I don’t know where it’ll go from here, but I know I gave it my best shot while there was breath in my lungs.

HUGE thank you to my partner Jade Peters for putting her world on hold to lift me up, and help with the planning/execution of these events. To my good friend Harley Steele for MCing all three and for holding my hand during the scary parts. To my mum Cindy Creighton for not only coming to all three, but also driving so I could get tipsy enough to public speak.

To my photographers Gmx Aparawa (Brisbane) Sun Chaser Pictures (Lismore) and Anthony Parker (Gold Coast), who VOLUNTEERED their time to take some photos to commemorate the occasion! These guys were absolute professionals, and so lovely to work with - I’d highly recommend any of them for your upcoming events.

To Logan Dove, Juliette Greenfield and Sarah Hawkins-Walker who toured with me, making all three nights as memorable as could be! and to the rest of my cast and crew who also gave up their time to help plug the event and make the Q&As as informative as could be.

To Jake Tarrant for manning the merch table, and designing those SICK crossover tees.

To the venues.

And to all of my family and friends, old and new, who gave up their time to come and support us.

We’re now entering the festival circuit to see if we can lock in sales agents, distributors, financiers and business partners. 5.30 at Reading Cinemas Harbour Town guys! Again, this is the LAST TIME you will see this in cinemas unless it gets picked up by a festival or distributor. It’s half way between Lismore and Brissy so if you missed out on either of those it’s a fairly reasonable drive. If you’re worried about wrist bands I don’t mind putting some aside for anyone travelling 🚗 let’s send it off with a bang!

Two screenings down, one to go! We had 90 out of 100 people turn up for our Brisbane screening and a whopping 180 for Lismore! So far the response has been INSANE.

General consensus is it’s well paced, well acted, thrilling, beautifully shot, surprisingly funny in parts, and technically proficient.

When I watch my movies back I’m usually just watching or listening to the crowd, and the crowds for this one have been incredible. Hearing 180 people cheer on the protagonist is so empowering as a writer/director.

Huge thank you to the venues, Harley Steele for MCing, Jake Tarrant for selling nearly ALL of our shirts, Total Buzzkill for sending the film out with a bang, Cindy Creighton and Jade Peters for their endless support, Logan Dove, Juliette Greenfield and Sarah Hawkins-Walker for “touring” the film with me, the rest of our cast and crew, and all of the amazing people who have come to watch and support. If I die tomorrow and I get this sort of turnout at my funeral I’ll be a happy little ghost 👻

Wednesday the 27th is your final chance to see our film before it disappears into film festivals for a while. Please come to Harbourtown Cinemas to show your support and help send the film off on a high ❤

Last night we screened at New Farm Cinemas in Brisbane to a 90% full theatre. The response was incredible. Now it’s your turn Lismore.

Come and see THE MATRIARCH for FREE before it disappears into the festival circuit.

You WILL NOT get a chance to see the film again unless a local film festival or distributor picks it up (which could take another year or so), so don’t miss out!

Doors 6pm. Screening 7pm. 350 seats. First come first in.

Have a drink at the Gatsby bar while you wait and enjoy this historic venue!

It started in Bonalbo and it ended at Aldergrove Studios in Brisbane. My first feature film THE MATRIARCH is done. Like, done done. Music, sound, all of it. HUGE thank you to Michael Angelo Monaco for putting in the long hours to make this film what it is, and apologies to Michael’s wife for stealing him away from you for so long. I’m so proud of what the team and I have accomplished and I can’t wait for you all to see it.
